Here is the latest toy to the fleet - a Tamiya R470 Scania Highline lorry :)

After bidding and loosing on the auction on 1980's Tamiya Hilux (which went for ridiculous money) ,i decided to settle with another 3 speed lorry. This was purchased off eBay and luckily the seller had been into RC/Modelling for the last 25 years - Safe to say it's been built and painted to perfection.

Having exchanged a few emails which rejected my offer(s),we finally manage to agree a price and i went to collect it a couple of days ago.

This is how she arrived:

(The odd looking mark on the glass is the RX wire inside the cab and thankfully not a crack lol)

Currently the model has been sprayed to the original box-art finish and installed are the following electrics:
  • Hobbyking gearbox servo
  • AE steering servo
  • Hobbyking 3ch receiver
  • Stock TEU101BK Tamiya ESC
  • Stock 540 27t motor
My plans now are to carry out the follow work to the truck:
  • Install a 50-70t crawler motor for extra torque
  • Upgrade the gearbox servo to a stronger metal geared Savox
  • Install 4-6ch radio gear along with a shift gate for smooth gear change
  • Remove the cab and carry out more detailed painting to the interior
  • Install cab lights along with cab accessories such as curtains, bottles etc
  • Install front and rear lights
  • Fit RC4WD scale hubs to the wheels all round
  • Fit a pair of scale aerials to the top area of the cab
  • Remove the black fuel tank and spray silver just like it would be on the 1:1 version
  • Install a fire extinguisher to the back of the cab
  • Paint/decal the lettering on the tyres
  • Possible re-do the front grill mesh/ paint the Scania logo chrome
  • Paint and install a driving figure
  • Maybe consider a Tamiya trailer at a later date
The majority of the works are in fact cosmetic, but it is the little detail i am after...

Suggestions and comments are more then welcome  :)
