Popular Post melvins913
This afternoon I decided to go for a little drive to DMS Racing in Hertforshire to pick this up This is my 2nd kit and 2nd electric and all within two weeks I had so much fun building my durango detc410 that I wanted to build something else and this really caught my eye. I still need to get motor/esc for this and the Durango. I also need to get lipos/ charger and tx/rx. Cant wait to get stuck into it, but Im taking the missus to spain next week so I'll have to wait until we get back Edited February 13, 2015 by melvins913

Alex97
The vampire esc's are good, most the guys I race with who is the sct class run them. They are currently on offer from DMS.

seandoc
they do go together really nice, i think it took around 4-5hrs to build mine in 1 go
melvins913
they do go together really nice, i think it took around 4-5hrs to build mine in 1 go Absolutely loving this build, goes together very quickly and the quality is great. The only thing I don't like is the layout of the manual, and I wish they put all the items you need to build a section in 1 bag instead of having to open multiple bags. melvins913
Progress from tonight The diff, gear box, and motor mount are all done. Next up is the body mounts then shocks.
melvins913
So last night I built up the shocks. This was a right ball ache. 1st off there are a few different o rings that are similar to each other and the manual didn't have them listed down the side so you can't check its the right one. Also the manual shows that an o ring goes around the thread where the shock cap screws on but there want one big enough. A youtube video showed that one goes in the shock cap instead, so thats what I done. If anyone can confirm this it would be very much appreciated. I managed to also slightly deform an e clip that goes on top of the piston. Its on pretty good but as its weakened I've ordered a pack from Jespares which should be here in the morning so I can replace the bent one and finish the shocks. Tonight Im hoping to finish up building the rest of the car. Still need to get some tires, paint and electrics which I'll be ordering end of next week after my short break to spain. melvins913
Last night I finished putting the rest of the truck together, the e clips should be here this afternoon hopefully so the shocks can be finished and mounted. Ive been looking at motors/esc and I'm thinking of going with the turnigy track star 3520kv. Is that enough for bashing? EDIT: might help if I added the link lol http://www.hobbyking.co.uk/hobbyking/store/__25140__Turnigy_TrackStar_Waterproof_1_10_Brushless_Power_System_3520KV_80A.html Edited February 18, 2015 by melvins913

Noj
Can you stretch the budget on the combo at all?? EBay item :291007924670 Hobbywing sc8wp with 4000kv four pole, just what the doctor ordered and will knock the socks off the turnigy combo
ostewart
I agree, the hobbywing combo is excellent for SCT's
Noj
Having recently tried the HK combo in both 2 and 4wd, it's OK, but could be better. Can be glitchy and worryingly, packs came off at 3.1v per cell, which is way, way too low for me; the lvc is auto and can't be altered For a tamiya, I reckon the combo is fine, for owt else, hobbywing has to be a consideration, or, if you don't mind importing and playing the customs game, a castle set up with 4600kv four pole can he had for similar money... Tear101
I have a hobbywing combo in my slash and love it . I ran a cheap etronix set up to start with and then upgraded to the HW and the difference is unreal! the HW is so smooth and very powerfull and well worth the money! Got mine off of ebay for about
Noj
Used to be cheaper to import the combo, prices between here and China are too similar to bother now, IMO. The turnigy has a place, the arse end of a tasty SC which involved a 120mile round trip is not it
capri-boy
If you can get a suitable motor i've got a brand new wpsc8 for sale, here in UK at a good price. There's a motor with it, 3665 leopard, but it's only 2100kv so more suited for 4S running in an 8th.
