WJpowertech
Does anyone know anything about these? Like how to set them up. I have instructions but they really are rubbish. I've read thru and they don't make sense. It give give no specifics.
WJpowertech
This is what I have. I have connected it up and it dies work - I have discovered that the connections need to be spot on - but have no reverse http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/321623813528
jordan_bench10
have you calibrated it ? sounds like you need to recalibrate the esc to your tx/rx
.AJ.
Sorry to say, but that looks like a plane/helicopter esc and that's why it doesn't have reverse
Noj
I'm not sure that is legit? Nothing remotely like either ESC nor motor listed on team Orion's website, neither do they list any help escs...???
WJpowertech
I know. It looks nothing like what I've seen. The instructions it came with references reverse but give no instructions on how to calibrate etc. I spoke to the guys (they have a shop in Milton keynes) and they know what's it's for etc! This I'll send it back for a refund then ask around on here to see what's suggested. Thanks
WJpowertech
I'm trying to add a picture to see if anyone can cast more info on this, can't see any options to add pics
Noj
All the pics needed are in the listing: the can is really poor quality, certainly nothing like the brushed Orion cans I own and nowt like any BL can they have released.
NuttyProfessor
Don't look right plus in the description, says you need a separate LVC if you use lipo's,on a BL esc? Really? Get your money back chap.
WJpowertech
Yeah will do thanks. I'll try again. Can anyone reccomend a reasonably priced BL ESC and motor set up? Out of curiosity, are Team Orion considered good quality items in the R/C world? The packaging mine came in was a generic bag clear back with cardboard top like you hang on a rail. Noj
Team Orion are fine, the brushed cans do come in a bag with a card top though, lol. What is your budget and what rc are you putting the combo in?
WJpowertech
It wasn't a team Orion bag though. It said 'world of R/C' My budget around
.AJ.
Something like this will be perfect if on a budget http://www.modelsport.co.uk/etronix-photon-2.1w-system-with-11.0t-3450kv-motor-45a-esc/rc-car-products/383998 Also it will be back up with an awesome warranty and customer service if you need it
brit_bulldog
Thats A genuine Team Orion Brushless car Speedo and Motor, Actually very expensive when first released. The ESC was made for Team Orion by Scheel and was quite special few tears ago.
Noj
Define 'a few' Not good that a seller is making out that the combo is current and suited for purpose when it is neither...
brit_bulldog
That's a lot cheaper then when they first came out! That's some new stock someone found hidden somewhere. It should be fully fine to use as described. People are still selling brushed Motors etc from back in the day!
WJpowertech
Out of curiosity I e-mailed team Orion and got a response from an Adriano Inserra, Product Manager. Apparently these were made for team Orion by a companey called Schulze and the motor and ESC were sold together. He said there a very old design - about 15 y/o and at the time were at the best there was at the time but not really suitable for today's 'systems' (his words). I have sent it back for a refund, still.
Noj
Incredible! As long as a refund is issued, all sorted I suppose. Really should be listed as vintage, if you ask me
WJpowertech
Agreed. Or new old stock at least
Noj
'Museum Quality' springs to mind
WJpowertech
???? either way I couldn't get it to work properly, so I'll see about getting the suggested ESC and motor and hope I have better luck with that. brit_bulldog
I think i still have one somewhere, There is no reason why it wont work today!!!!! Thats an odd response to me.
NuttyProfessor
Well I reckon the only 'reason' it wouldn't work is because its old tech to make you buy a brand new setup. I mean, people still use an MSC in vintage setups which is 30+ year old tech. castle actually made a Sidewinder ESC that looks like that Orion one.
