M5 Steering

Hi All,

My brother has just got a second hand "M5" and the steering is fine unless it is accelerating at the same time and then the steering gets reversed.

i have no experience with electric RC so was hoping somebody could help?

Cheers

Hard throttle in a turn does tend to stand the bike up.  Is that what you are experiencing?  It's a normal reaction because of an RC bike's steering geometry, and the gyro.

The steering on an #M5 is reversed anyway.

When you turn the controller 'left' the steering turns right. This is to make the bike 'fall' in the desired direction so the bike goes left.

When you accelerate, the front end comes up, and the front end will wag about a bit, and will turn.

Cornering an M5 you just use turn to start the turn, then you centre the steering and control the lean angle with the throttle. As long as it's doing what it needs to....don;t worry

Thanks for your replies, he said when he is accelarating he turns "right" to make the bike go left, from what your saying this is what it should do :)

I will pass on your info, hopefully it will make more sense to him as i have no clue with these bikes :)

Cheers!

To make a turn with a bike the front wheel needs to turn in the opposite direction to make it lean.

May just need to reverse the steering direction on the transmitter.

Thanks for all your help, it makes alot of sense now. when he tests the steering it is stationary and he reversed steering so "left" went "left" but as you have explained it needs to be the other way round otherwise it will seem reversed when driving.

Cheers all
