Steve1066
Hi guys. I'm getting my son a new brushed motor for his maverick We are either going to get a etronix sport tuned 15t, fire bolt 14t or Orion pro 13x2. The fire bolt is half the price of the other two it's only
53HRA
I tend to take it a little slow for about 5 mins, just to warm up the motor for the first time. Then just go wild until it lives

Tamiyacowboy
dont worry about water break in for bashing. you only use this method when vintage racing to vintage race rules. as a focus on motor keep. first couple of batterys, dont hammer it, just take it easy low range upto 3/4 throttle (70%) do this on the first battery. second battery, 2/4 throttle to full throttle, short burst and longer runs, DO NOT DOUGHNUT/BURNOUT couple 3-4 batterys later hell for leather. after a run shine a light into the rear of can vents have a look for any stones, dirt clods and or grass keep it clean if it gets wet, dry it out and get a decent LUBE, DO NOT USE WD40 !!! AND/OR 3-1 OIL

Steve1066
Thanks for your advise guys. I'm going to order a new motor tomorrow. See how much difference it makes. Then maybe look at brushless/lipos later.
