  1. Nice video dude, those things sure do take a good thrashing!
  2. Looking awesome so far dude! I remember NFS Most Wanted quite well, played it alot when it first came out. Can't wait to see it finished 👍
  3. That looks like a good day out in the woods to me 👍 Almost makes me want to go out and buy a crawler today! Aha. Great video mate
  4. Hi Gari, welcome to the forum mate 👍 Good choice on your first model, you'll have loads of fun with that. I'm from down south aswell, Portsmouth area myself, how about you?
  5. A few pics of my Banggood special (I actually love this buggy though)
  6. You're welcome dude And ok mate, awesome, I hope you get one as they are fantastic little buggies.
  7. Hi there mate. What I would recommend doing is spending just £15 quid extra, maximum, and buying a brand new WL Toys. You have a few to choose from ranging between 55 & 70 quid. Just have a little search on Banggood. I personally have a 144001 and i've had it 2 months so far and mechanically it's all sound. Had a few big crashes and so far only managed to do some cosmetic damage. EDIT: Here are a few to look at. https://www.banggood.com/Wltoys-A969-Rc-Car-1-or-18-2_4Gh-4WD-Short-Course-Truck-p-916962.html?rmmds=search&ID=226&cur_warehouse=CN https://www.banggood.com/Wltoys-A959-Rc-Car-with-2-Batteries-Version-1-or-18-2_4G-4WD-50km-or-h-Off-Road-Truck-RTR-Toy-p-1652589.html?rmmds=search&ID=513344&cur_warehouse=CN https://www.banggood.com/Wltoys-A979-with-Two-Batteries-1-or-18-2_4G-4WD-Off-Road-Truck-RC-Car-Vehicles-RTR-Model-p-1694768.html?rmmds=search&ID=6287830&cur_warehouse=CN
  8. That looks really cool mate, I love the simplicity and the retro styling. A nice gift to receive for sure. Good luck restoring it & I look forward to seeing the finished product 👍
  9. So from my measurements & without moving the esc, I should be able to use any lipo that is under 110m length, 40mm width & around 20mm high
  10. Glad you had a great time with the car. Shame about the conditions! But trust me, my cars have been dirtier than that before 😋 What I do personally to clean them off is firstly just pick off as many blades of grass, bigger bits of dirt & grime and then give it a wipe down with a rag. Then if you have an air gun or some sort of air canister (like keyboard cleaner) you can use that to get between all the niggly bits and get the majority of the crap out of there. If you don't have either of those then just some old brushes will do, small enough to get inbetween all the tight gaps. Then another wipe all over with a rag and maybe some ktichen roll and your done. It goes without saying that spraying it with a hose would be a bad idea 😋
  11. Man, that thing sounds like a million killer mosquitos coming towards you 😆 Very cool toy & 56mph is pretty damn fast on the water!
  12. That looks awesome man! I have one of these too (in stock form) & never could have imagined it looking like this. Best of luck with your speed runs 🤞
  13. Ah okay mate, no worries. Cheers anyway 👍 I'll get my ruler on it in a min and see what's gonna fit in there.
  14. Is that overlander battery a 2 or 3s? And it fits into the 144001's battery tray with no modifications? I've been looking at these zop power 3s lipos: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ZOP-Power-4500mAh-3S-11-1V-45C-Lipo-Battery-T-Plug-for-RC-Racing-Car-Drone/233594584445 They seem to be very good value for money, and recommended by a popular RC youtuber. Not sure if you or anyone else here has had any experience with them?
  15. So i've had one of these little mean machines from WL Toys for a couple of months now. They are a lot of fun for the money & probably the fastest RC you can get for under £100 quid (I actually got mine for £65 with 2 batteries!) Anyway, so far i've just been running it on the 1500mah 2s lipos that it came with. Now don't get me wrong, they're not bad at all. I've actually clocked the car at 32mph on my friends GPS meter. So it's no slouch. Now i have no idea what C rating these cheapo batteries are, so would simply upgrading to a similar size 2s battery with, say, 35C make any difference do you think? Or would I need something with higher mah too? (3000ish is probably the maximum that the battery tray can hold) I've also seen people run 3s lipos with these. Most of them have changed the motor out for a brushless one & most likely upgraded their ESC aswell, but I have seen a few that have used a 3s lipo with the standard 550 brushed motor and it seems to work. One of them managed to get 47mph out of it! So bearing all of that in mind, which kind of lipo do you guys think is gonna be my best option for this RC? Cheers
  16. You've done an excellent job there, that truck looks flawless 👌 The fire extenguisher is an awesome feature too!
  17. Looks like a proper job to me Paul 👍 & Certainly a unique colour scheme that you probably won't see anyone else rockin'
  18. Hey Matt, welcome to the forum 👍 There are alot of knowledgeable people on here that'll be able to give you answers to all your questions (i'm sure at least one of them will see this thread soon). But I can at least tell you that if you're gonna go down the brushless route & buy a new brushless motor then 100% you should buy some new good quality lipos to run it with, plus a new suitable ESC and transmitter/reciever.
  19. Hi mate, i'm only about 40 miles south of Reading so fairly close. I would be up meeting somewhere halfway if you know of any good spots?
  20. Hey Matt, welcome to the forum dude 👍
