First time they’re removed they are a nightmare , always best to get the solder iron in from an angle and get them warm first.
I would remove the driveshaft from the knuckle and use a torx bit . You might have to tap it in first
I’m in need of bearings for my arrma 3668 2200kv motor , I’ve been sent some by mb models abec 5 but when installed there’s a knock on the shaft when wiggled . When I took the rota out again the front bearing came out on the shaft . Am I right in thinking there shouldn’t be any knocking from new motor bearings?.
The digital servo is true , some analog servos will not last long on very fast response time remotes and receivers . I have a blx100 from a typhon listed on fb market place if you’re looking for the upgrades as you go along .
I’ve just ordered one of these for parts for my self and the rest I’ll be selling , if you’re interested in anything let me know , once I have the car I’ll start listing parts and prices , hope this can help people out
Thanks , I’ve gone for the gens 5500 , going in a typhon 3s and no motor fan on them plus not much air intake so may have seen temp problems in the summer time with the longer run batt , little rest for the motor in between batt changes . Thanks for your input
I’m trying to choose between these or gens ace bashing , both 2s , I’ve been running 4s gens ace on my kraton and I’ve been really impressed with the runtime , largest gens is 5500 and the opti is 7000,
If I had two batteries with the same mah and c rating but one 2s and one 3s . Say they were put in a car that did 30mph on 2s but I restricted the speed when the 3s battery was in to 30mph would one have a longer runtime .
These are what I’ve ordered the shafts are 4mm and the cartridge is 8mm so hopefully these will be little bit snugger than the genuine ones , stimpy , being a plumber I’ve already tried the silicone and it stuck too much to the shaft I didn’t grease it though .
I’ve been looking at the design and because it’s a clip on cap I think adding to compress is not probably going to work as well as something tighter on the shaft and over sized for the housing .
It’s certainly made out to be indestructible on web vids , makes me wonder why they make spares !, I think you couldn’t go wrong with either really . If I’d have gone the other way and bought the maxx I’d still have a big cheesy grin every time I squeezed that trigger . They are well talked about and reviewed cars for a reason .
I was making this same decision just after Christmas, I went kraton 4s based on watching videos I preferred the handling of the kraton, far to much turning over on the traxxass . I couldn’t have been happier with my choice , from reviews I think the maxx is possibly more durable but driving this is so nice . No need for the self righting system of the traxxass as it never turns over unless crashed .
On ftx website the car and my sons outlaw are listed as having a waterproof 2.1 esc , however look at the electrics section on ftx and the esc is listed as splash proof ! . Guess I’ll find out on the next run after I washed both our cars off Sunday eve
