  1. @Stormbringer one for you. Added a wheelie bar just for looks more than anything else. It was a cheap Chinese made one designed for a 1/10th Traxxas but looks nicely to scale I think for the Infraction. Took a bit of thinking to get it fitted and I recycled some carbon fibre rear wing mounts that I made for my Limitless in order to get it done. Had to make a mount to fit underneath but was reasonably easy once I had marked out the holes correctly. Carbon fibre wing mounts I made for my Limitless below. I changed the rear wing design after I crashed the Limitless so these were going spare, ....fitted them upside down and think they fit really well.
  2. Gash imho and that's coming from someone that likes most of what Arrma have done in the last few years. Too expensive for what it is, rubbish looking fake armed passengers but the biggest thing I dislike is that it's just too similar to most of their truggy off roaders, ....I was hoping for a solid rear axle truck when I first saw the pictures. Something Arrma haven't done. I think Arrma have missed a trick not making this a solid rear axle truck like the Losi Super Rock Rey, Super Baja Rey and similar.
  3. Welcome aboard. Found a club called "Sheffield Off Road & Rally RC Club" on Facebook who seem to race regularly, ...probably just over an hour or more from you depending on your exact location. Link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/2884405478514787 Good luck with the search. Hope you find something.
  4. Have you bought one? It should come with a wheel nut remover at least most do. Hex sizes usually 1.5mm, 2.0mm and 2.5mm covers most metric RC allen screws on cars. Nuts wise M3 and M4's are common so 7mm & 5.5mm, ....old Tamiya 4 way wrench is great for these. Loads more tools obviously you could buy (lexan scissors, snips, needle nose pliers etc etc) but that's the essential above imho.
  5. Weller 40W soldering iron is what I'd recommend, ...not too expensive, very reliable and will have no problem doing everything RC soldering related including larger gauge wiring. Link: https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/7006571182?iid=133915303203
  6. Agreed ~ bodyshell looks fantastic. ❤️
  7. @Ant.p if you do decide to try to make your own spoiler I'm happy to walk you through how I do it and what I use. Most important thing is to wear a face mask/gloves when cutting/sanding and drilling as the dust/fibres can be harmful. Also using the correct blades to cut and drill makes things so much easier. Definitely one of a kind when you make it yourself.
  8. @Fat Freddy as long as you're enjoying it that's all that matters. As Ant above said for those sort of speeds just a good car park or Industrial Estate road would suit you I'm sure. It is difficult finding good areas to run at speed but satisfying when you get faster and faster, ....breaking your own PB's and having fun is what it's about.
  9. The aluminium brackets I modified/cut to work and I had bought them way back in 2019 from a seller called Blacksmiths Products on eBay but he hasn't had them since then. You could always use some 90degree aluminium plate though instead. Not to bothered about whether it works or not just did it more for the looks, ...if it is detrimental then I'll take it off. I buy my carbon fibre plate from eBay usually this seller: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/403023054815?hash=item5dd60bc7df%3Ag%3AD9EAAOSwHXRg~2yU&var=673201254133&fbclid=IwAR3bI3fnF66vq3BNJvBRrSfEKtCkyG2HRltNJBM549T8fOsnpx0ScLIGXN4 Probably cost you £100 to buy a spoiler like that from a manufacturer so I always think it's worth making your own if you can. 😏
  10. Welcome aboard. No idea about your charger question sorry, ...when I had a nitro I just had a charger plug that jacked in to my glow starter from the mains without needing to adjust anything. Try asking in the "Nitro" sub section if you get no help in your introduction.
  11. Yep got one on the way from China. I don't even think it needs it at the moment but just thought it would be fun to go the full hog making it look like a drag car/truck. The wheelie bar I bought is for a Traxxas Slash 2WD and doesn't come with any mounts so I'm going to modify it to fit. Might even need to widen it to make it more suitable for the larger scale of the Infraction. Thanks. Really easy to do, ...just hand filed the edges to put a chamfer on them, then sanded round with 320 to 800 wet & dry sand paper.
  12. Finished making today a carbon fibre "drag style" spoiler for my Infraction. No idea whether it will be beneficial to have it or not but TBH I just made it purely for the look. 😎
  13. Personally although I like buying brand new when I can most of the RC's I have owned have been used ~ this is good two fold because firstly you can usually get a lot more for your money and secondly as it's always wise to fully service a used RC you get good knowledge of how the RC all goes together from assembling & dismantling it (plus you know all your fluids are fresh then as well). I'd recommend a used Arrma Typhon 6S as one good option if you can find one within your budget as imho they're decent buggies with a lot of spares readily available for them. Used one here on eBay (if you could negotiate that one for less than the asking price it still leaves money then for a 6S battery & charger) : https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/125079931598?hash=item1d1f584ace:g:0IcAAOSwkpth0NDA
  14. Always good to have options. 😉
  15. Welcome aboard ~ glad you decided to join the forum after the FB link. I'm more an electric RC user although I did have a nitro (Thunder Tiger TS4N) but it was probably as long ago as yours so things have changed some. Hopefully you can get some good info off the nitro members on the forum (may take a little while as members come & go offline). Sub forum here might be a good place to post a question; https://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/forums/forum/52-general-nitro/ Good luck.
  16. Managed to get out today in between rain spells for some testing. First thing was to make sure it was going straight enough still and tweak the steering if needed, ...it was needed and a PITA. Mainly because of the uneven adjustment of the tie rods (for toe adjustment on the front) so I had to basically reset it all (the front tie rods) as best I could, centre the servo and start again. It's a real nuisance with the bad weather as it was just so wet everywhere it not only makes trying to put the power down difficult but also means everything gets soaking wet under the body shell too. Because of the wet conditions as well as the cold I had to try starting my hits at 50% full power on my remote because just could not get any grip. I worked up to 75% power on the remote as that's about all I could do. Tried 100% and that just caused loss of traction every time (fun though). Best time I could muster under the circumstances. The "G-force" is less than I managed last time as is the time/max speed. Some of this is due to the conditions but the biggest factor is my new gearing on the same ESC/motor combo. It's just geared too high so has too much top end and not enough acceleration. I'm using the smallest pinion (23T) I could with the spur gear (39T) I am using but it's going to need a bigger spur gear if I want it to go faster over the 132ft drag. Already spoken to a supplier about getting some bigger spur gears so just a waiting game now. Happy with the way everything else is set up though.
  17. Just do what makes you happy and screw the neighbours (to a point of course). Think making a model boat of your actual boat will be really cool as well. I did it of a 350Z car that I once owned and I know others who have done it with RC's as well as static models like I did. Think if it was me I'd just do a very detailed static model with lighting and everything but only because I hate the idea of making a model RC boat only for it to break down in the middle of a lake and me have to swim out to it.
  18. Welcome aboard. Love the boats name, ...I bet the neighbours are thinking something like that with a boat on your driveway in the middle of suburbia. 😏
  19. Personally I think this is a real shame. More jobs gone in the UK and less options for us for RC stuff quickly available in this country.
