Technically as it being Christmas Eve Eve Christmas has now started. I shall thus be imbibing copious volumes of adult beverages and consuming excessive amounts of food. It is incumbent upon me therefore to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year now, as I shall only lurk periodically over the next two weeks, unless you inbox me, then I shall reply with due haste.
Merry Christmas One and All. -
25% Just Eat voucher, thanks very much. Best thing is it was google who reminded me - I didn't even know I had one - and the google email reminder service is usually 3 weeks out of date. Chinese for all the family tonight.

After a far too long gap I'm now the proud owner of another Hyper 7e. Couple of bits to do then it'll be the definitive H7e. Not going anywhere this one.

Thanks to Answer-RC for some great service as always. Another haul of Hong Nor spares to go in the cupboard and not get used. Darn things are too well made.

eBay is fast becoming a total farce for all parties. Find listing, buy item, pay for item. Ten mins later get a message from seller cancelling sale as item is no longer available and he should have cancelled listing.... fair enough, it happens - but no option to leave feedback for seller - good bad or neutral.

We got very lucky, the ghetto flat new tenants gave me the game all straight up. So lucky this time. Mayb karma lol.
I found 280 in a cash point after seeing the woman storm away from it. I just shouted her and pointed. A week later i saw her again on the bus. Turns out shes a neighbour lol plus was a neighbour at the old address too.
I stunned an old guy in his tracks lol.

Turns out my ebay money off vouchers were probably bcos i hadnt used the account since 2016 and only ever brought one item. Sold 1 item.
I saw a £10 voucher i thought i used but didnt have the code thinking it was auto.
But last week saw another for 15 and the code so took a pic of it luckily cos i never found it again.
Ill update it and leave it another two yrs.

Small consolation - spoke to eBay chat - they linked me to a different feedback summary and I was able to leave neg feedback - they claimed there's a bug on my purchase history page that doesn't allow me to leave feedback for cancelled sales.....
Karma - seller who cancelled this morning - parcel arrived this afternoon - addressed to me, but with a shipping note / receipt attached in a clear pocket - with someone else's details - low and behold other persons item is inside.... I've messaged the seller to advise them they've breached the GDPR.... and I have their item which there welcome to pay for return postage for.

Steal on eBay - Thunder Tiger Hilux - RTR, new - £130 delivered! Or £110.49 using code PRESENTS - madness!

Yeah I was torn between the red and blue, red more period correct, but as I won't be applying decals I thought the blue looked particularly nice plain.
strange thing is the ebay email confirmed the 30 quid discount but the PP confirmation I just had through stated the full price... Why isn't anything ever simple.

SMT10 Max D sub £200 delivered now at Tamico....
Today only.

Anyone want any children? Get home, usual - crisp packets down sofa - no one's of course. Choc stain on the sofa - nope, no ideas. Go to get the phone charger to pack up with phone - been in same place over a year..... poof. Gone.
-
Most annoyed! There's a pot in the utility room with USB plugs in, no charge lead as they all have their own. Must be ten, twelve plugs in yet the only turbo 12v charger has walked. Bar my nexus no one's devices can even use it so it'd be functioning as a 5v standard one anyway. Buyer has been a star so no harm done bar two hours wasted turning the man cave, lounge, utility and bedroom upside down searching for it.
-
Update Bios, windows no longer allows the pre stored pin or face ID to log on - great - nice security feature. Please enter MS password - not recognised x 3 - reset password - sorry must use a new password - grr - return to laptop and enter password for 4th time - recognised. Go figure.

Why is choosing a new 1:1 so hard. Would help knowing what I wanted but just browsing and the option / sub model lists are more confusing than a DWP appeals form.

yeah its lovely they wheels sit so nice on it, personally i can appreciate modern cars but being a petrol head my heart will always lay with the classics which makes picking a sensible daily for myself a nightmare have found myself owning 20+ cars in a year and a huge headache. currently settled for a Mazda 3 MPS Practical, Fast and reliable but sucks on MPG

Messed up on eBay - that'll teach me for accepting offers late at night after having a few beverages.
-
Low ball of £20 for a £50 item - thing is I have half the £50 combo (2 items) listed for £26, and often get offers of £20. I didn't read it fully (ebay mobile app) - so countered with £23. Posted single item this morning, went to relist this afternoon and realised the mistake. Sent buyer a message, offered a full refund inc postage, or a £5 disc to keep item or offered to send the other part for another £10 - i'm still loosing but i've 100% feedback since yr dot and am very annoyed to risk it. Buyer so far is being very reasonable...

Spending a lot of time with our 4yr olds at work, learning about manners - struck me that there's a few adults I know who'd benefit from the same lessons.

Both SMT10's - Gravedigger and Max D are £255 deli from Hobbyking UK atm....must resist! Buy them folks so I don't have to!

Off to Liverpool soon for an early Birthday treat - not been for 20yrs and that was just a quick stopover on route to Speke Airport. Anyone local with recommendations for things to do?
-
Usual farce - if your in the midlands don't deal with Sandicliffe - possibly the worst service i've ever had from a company. Promised vehicle back for 16.30, returned to me at 18.15 - leaving me stranded at work since 3. Booked for service and MOT - low and behold they MOT'd first, and failed her on a bulb (which service should have picked up) and two rear tyres very close. £16 for a bulb change and £120 tyres and pass. Some recommendations - needless to say they'll be rectified at a different dealership - my patience with them has run out. Rant over.

Back before I decided to run newer cars with warranty's my local MOT place were always fair. Need a number plate bulb? Yh it passed, bulbs on the seat, fit it yourself. My experience of sandicliffe is no better than stratstone BMW before this, all a cash grab from them. Bought that £13k pre reg from us... Yup we'll wring you so hard for cash you won't come back. Seems a crappy way to do business.
Funny thing rushboy last year the only rectification work was a wiper blade..... They serviced first that time, refused to NOT MOT before I could get over after work to swap it and thus I paid £25 for the privilege of new dealer wiper blades to save a fail, and the 2hr round trip for a retest.
-
Service & MOT due Mon, then new car shopping. Outcome of said service and MOT will certainly impact the RC fund - whether positively and a shiny new rig or negatively and a sell off is yet to be seen!

Late 2013 - have an odd noise at speed, only noticed this week but I usually have stereo a bit loud. I think it's road noise, starts about 60 then gets louder to somewhere past 75 then settles. Dropping the clutch and freewheeling makes no difference so I assume that means it's nothing (major) gearbox / engine.

eBay fail of the day. Ordered item Sat, FAST & FREE - del est Tues or Weds. Lots of other sellers but we needed this for work, time critical. They didn't dispatch till Tues, on 48hr service so needless to say arrived today. Later than 'advertised'. Went to leave feedback - can't leave anything but positive for 7 days as a power seller..... and can't 'rate' dispatch time etc as pre-filled - total rubbish.

This is where i'm at. I've shot the seller a message - I'm a small business myself - don't want to be petty - so long as there response is reasonable i'll leave positive but mention the dispatch time etc - if not it'll be a negative. eBay didn't even give me the option of clicking 'did this item arrive before.....' like they usually do.

Bit too wet to shoot at the scale nationals today. Should make some interesting running for those already there. Enjoy.
-
UK Scaler Nationals this weekend @ Bracken Rocks Derbyshire. Sat looks warm and wet, can't beat that! Sun cooler with chances of showers. I may pop along to shoot some rigs, hands up who's going!

All the haters - new Buggy World Record for 6s - 151.18 at ROSSA today by Martin P with a Hobao Hyper VSe.

The yellow one on the right. It was at an official ROSSA event so I'd assumed it's been filmed but I've not seen any footage yet.

Love eBay sellers. RC NEVER jumped or abused - all that hot glue and epoxy is just for added strength.... scroll through the guys facebook posts and loads of pics of him abusing the poor thing. Tops it all by asking about 15% off the new price for his well hammered nail.
-
Thanks to our collective act of stupidity I am at least exporting more old RC parts BACK to the Eu.

@Nitroholic I would say that I support a referendum on the final deal, as we will have a few more facts and certainties, instead of blindly going into the unknown.
If remain had won by such a small margin I don't think there would have been as much uproar due to the fact that things would have continued like they were before the referendum. People are annoyed due to the lack of clarity and leadership.
If you remember, May only kept her job as PM by buying support from another party, magic money tree I suppose.
We pay in to the EU and we get a lot of benefits along with that. It may not be a perfect system but much better to try and change things whilst still a member.
Also as stated there have been many referendums over the years, about various different subjects, and they are not legally binding in many cases.
A no deal Brexit is looking like a very possible reality, so when there is no medicine available for the sick, and no food on the shelves of supermarkets (short term problems) please do tell me it was all worth it. Again this might not happen, but the government are stockpiling certain medications in the event that it does, doesn't exactly instill confidence in the whole thing...
-
So we have a no deal? Why do people assume the apocalypse follows? Better no deal than a bad deal.
Every decision our parliament makes affects us. We had no referendum about starting illegal wars in Syria, in Libya and in Iraq. We had a referendum on Brexit.....now you want a referendum on how we Brexit. What will your next referendum be on? Surely we should have had a referendum on buying two huge aircraft carriers at the cost of billions for which we have no planes...and the planes we planned for them are not available.....
The issue is not that we need a referendum. We don't.
The issue is you, and many others, have absolutely no confidence in the professional politicos in this country to perform the only task they are paid to do. Namely run the country. We do not need referendums if our political system reflects the will of the people, as it should.
That's everyones fault who does not vote EVERY time there is an election. Which is about 65% of the population.
Incidentally..I voted remain. But I would not do so again.
