All Quiet on the Eastern front! we are not getting so much traffic on the forum lately so to all members keep posting up about your RC hobby, also recommend MSUK to your RC friends, we all have the means to perk things up on here

🖐️
Still here, will be 14 yrs in a few weeks time. Still look in from time to time, but yeah, carp weather and hardly any opportunity locally to run the cars, combined with being mega busy at work and at home has meant little chance to enjoy & share RC recently 😔 (even the helis have suffered). Do miss it and hope to be back on here more in the Spring. Hope everybody is well 👍

Hate to post this but feel like this forum is going downhill, we seem to be losing stalwart members fast and for me the forum is sooooo very slow to load on each page/section, hope im wrong

I think the lack of traffic on here is more a reflection of the lack of opportunity to enjoy RC in the UK. I've noticed a huge difference in the quality and quantity of bashing spots local to me in the 13 years I've been back in the hobby. Very difficult to go anywhere local now to enjoy ragging the cars around, most places have been 'closed' off, either built on, or just fenced off so nobody can enjoy them. It's one reason why I've moved almost exclusively to helis and quads recently. Much easier to find somewhere to enjoy them, I practice at lunchtime at work, and have the use of a local farm, fields etc to fly the bigger birds evenings and weekends.
Combine that with prohibitive costs of new kits/RTR's here in the UK, compared to say the US, and its not difficult to understand why numbers are falling (numbers of active bashers as opposed to 'active' talkers). RC across the pond seems really healthy right now, which is hardly a coincidence. More/better model shops, both bricks and mortar and online, many more places to enjoy using your trucks, both bashing and racing, cheaper prices for kits, parts, P&P etc.

New fifth scale from Primal;

3 x little 1S 1000mah lipos, £4.26 each at a UK model shop, fair price I thought, I'll order those... £6.50 postage... maybe not.

Jk have a few of the reduced 1060 ESCs - https://www.jk-rc.co.uk/tamiya-subaru-brat-parts/thw-1060-rtr-p

not doing another pre order, the estimated arrival always gets longer, now got to wait at least a month for the new K5 Blazer and typical that USA get there's but UK is not important

Is there an issue with spare parts for Kyosho models, seem to be in short supply

I have a few vintage Kyosho buggies, but they are pretty much shelf queens as I can't risk breaking them. Even parts for my ReRe Tomahawk are almost non existent here in the UK, though to be fair, its not ever going to be a hard basher, so hopefully little will need replacing anyway.
Much as it pains me to say it, if you want (fairly) easy parts availability, for a decent number of years, you're really only left with the three T's - Traxxas, Tekno and not quite as good, at least here in UK, Tamiya.

So my Cragsman C Pro has paint peel on the inside of the body’s, it’s only been run once and never bashed… I spoke to the shop I purchased it from RCModelz in the UK and they aren’t willing to do anything to help the situation, I’m fuming at a £700 RC with crappy paint, I’m sure if it was Modelsport, Wheelspin or Appliance Electronics they would see it right 😡

I think you're right to request a replacement shell. The way I look at it, if I walked into the shop, asked to look at the truck with a view to buying, would I still hand over my card having noticed a fairly obvious defect? In the same way, when we do online shopping, if I receive a bag of apples that look like they've been drop kicked around the store room, then I'll call to request a refund, since I wouldn't have put them in my basket if I was in-store. Simple concept in my eyes.

Merry Christmas to the msuk fam

The dog's in hospital, constant vomiting despite having an injection to stop the vomiting this morning. Twenty four hours of constant vomit, not eating or drinking. Last ate yesterday morning and threw it straight up.
Finger's crossed.

Wife & daughter asked me to shut myself away somewhere for half an hour while they finished wrapping some presents. I chose the hobby room. Half an hour may become an hour. Or so.

Thinking of stopping RC Don't have the time also no places left to run them. Every piece of waste ground has been built on.
-
You're not the only ones. Whilst I live in a 'rural' county, there is almost nowhere to run my 1/10 & 1/8 bashers round here anymore. Various pieces of unused council land / waste ground have either been built on or more usually just fenced off with lots of warning signs but with nothing actually being done. I'm OK for crawling / trailing round here, and there's a few indoor 1/10 & 1/12 / 1/14 clubs/tracks, but TBH I get the most enjoyment from just hooning around with a 1/10 or 1/8 MT or SCT, preferably with a couple of mates. And that's what I find almost impossible to do round here these days ☹️ Will defo be selling a few off over the coming months.
