Trouble is with nige his price is so high compared to MS  Take Losi 5 nige wants £1,350 MS it's £999 mtxl same agian £1120 MS is £899 if it where say £50 different you could swallow it but not at these prices sorry.. So I'd hate to think what he is going to ask for this dbxl e ?

Abbots agian are pricy MMR are fairly reasonable though from what I remember ?

Having a small support network here in the UK might cause problems later down the line, us leaving the eu agian might cause issues on stock and pricing later on, it's all a bit up in the air to be honest so for me im going to hold off for a while just see how it all pans out..

Perhaps your right Losi just don't see the UK as a viable outlet anymore or one that's just not worth too much investment

There is an old saying all good things come to those who wait so waiting it out might be the best option right now ;)

I actually outright asked Jason why his prices were so high, think at the time, he was asking £1,249 for the 5ive-T and I asked him why, when they were £999 in MS, he reckoned MS get them cheaper, but couldn't tell me how... Maybe buying in bulk.

But I call crap, because my ex-LHS only used to buy one at a time and they were at £1,049 and then £999.

It's an odd one for sure.

@Guns - as I mentioned above, all the stuff that's now marked as on Sale, isn't actually any cheaper lol, maybe one or two things, but nothing that would make you think they're dropping the line entirely, or you'd think they'd be a bit less just to get shot.

Nige has priced correctly, in line with new pricing by the distributors. This is what your Horizon and CML items could cost, going forward.

Current stock can be sold off at whatever the retailer chooses, and if MS no longer have a deal with Horizon, then are under no obligation to do anything other than recoup what they can, clearing warehouse space as they go.

Whatever is going on its not looking good at the minute and certainly not the right time imo to fork out a large wedge of cash on something that may or may not have good support this side of the water. Like I say I'm going to hold tight for now see how things go if this is any good it will be around for a few years so it's not like there's a big rush lol

It's such a shame everything is getting shafted because of this Brexit nonsense.

You can see why it would look so bad though to have a £350 price difference between two shops.

FP points do offset some, but not all

    Tis certainly a shame :(

Posted by @Geehawk with a query about buying ECX, MS replied:

"With regret due to our supplier's decision to sell direct to the public means we will no longer be stocking Horizon Hobby products. So unfortunately once our stock is sold out we won't be getting any more"

That covers Losi too I'm guessing... and Vaterra :o

I remember when Traxxas were public. You could just phone up the (Bristol I think) Office and order parts direct!

It's also a way of controlling pricing too, without retailers there is no competition...

Depends what colour you want and what model some have actually gone down and the red and blue Baja Rey are priced different one is 319 the other 359 the Losi 5 was 999 on Monday it then went to 1099 the next day so it's a mad house at the minute..

    Hiya,

There has been a big change behind the scenes, that is a given!!!!!

The price of parts has gone up a little across the board, thank you brexit and the unstable, low exchange rate that has caused for that one!!

The price of the cars has gone up yes, I questioned this myself and was told it was because Horizon UK were heavily discounting cars to get sales to make there sales ledger look good to the Americans.  Horizon France, Germany, Italy, etc, who in the old system were separate companies in effect, were all doing it.  It's one of the reasons why in Europe Horizon has decided to pull all of Europe under one roof, to keep things consistent.  The RRP in the UK is now the same all over Europe.  In the UK we now get a price list in €'s, the same price list they get all over Europe.

As for parts support and customer support, nothing to worry about really.  My stock levels of parts had gone down, yes.  I only found out a day or two ago I still had an account!! and I was nervous about filling my shelves in the last couple of months with stock that I would have to discount and sell on if I didn't get a new account. A full list of 'Horizon Certified Partners' can be found here :-

    https://www.horizonhobby.co.uk/Local-Dealers.htm?SessionId=&a=catalog&p=51068

We will be, of course, stocking parts for the DBXLE, why wouldn't we, the thing looks awesome!!  I haven't listed the car yet as I'm waiting for the parts price list.  As personally I think it's hard to make a decision about buying a car without knowing the parts prices first.

Saying that though I can tell you the Freeprawn Racing price which will be £889.99 and you will also get 890 bonus points (as long as you don't buy with 0% credit) worth £44.50 effectively making the price of the car £845.49.

    Hope that info helps.

    Nige.

Can we only use the points of the next purchase or off the dbxl e ?

Great info by the way and clears up some of the uncertainty

Unless it's changed in the last 5 minutes, both the Baja Reys are £359.

    Both yesterday were £319.

Losi 5ives gone up by 100quid... DBXL by 50quid... I've not found anything that's actually gone down, at least that I recognize.

You'd expect a bigger sale really, if they've parted ways, shift stock, make space, get somebody else on board etc...

    Ahhh yes, Proboat is Horizon!

May well keep my eyes peeled now, cheers for that lol.

Nothing else interested me, other than the XXL2e, but don't want another RTR with Castle electrics, both Yetis had nothing but trouble with them, otherwise I'd have bought one!
