  1. Hi all, Just a brief introduction and my reason for joining the forum, to sell my rc stuff Im backing away from the hobby I want the simple life I've been into RC since the late 80's and was a keen RC'er until around the year 2005, I used to race at west London race centre in in the days where everyone had a team associated TC3 or Xray I stopped Rc in order to pursue my hobby of competitive rifle shooting (quite similar in may ways) Having recently been a returnee to the world of rc i have to say I'm a little disheartened at the state of our hobby. There seems little to no stock in many stores and Rc planes have almost died..Quad copters/ seem to be the thing now...eeeewww I had the misfortune to buy the Ripmax Mini WOT4 and found it to be so horrible to fly i genuinely felt that plane was dangerous. A truly unpleasant experience...Also the wizardry of 2.4 ghz radio, which cuts out. if I fly my plane to far off, is to say the very least bloody terrifying ... I don't care what anyone says I'm going back to FM on planes and AM for cars, i had a spekrum tranny lose elevator in mid flight.....i left the park with the plane, the transmitter stayed in the park in the bin I am no slouch when it come to flying and have had many 3d aerobatic and home built designed plane...nothing was as utterly anti-enjoyable as this travesty 😁 Thankfully i kept my old transmitters A hiteck 35mghz single stick plane tranny and an old Futaba Attack R vinatge from 89 Which is why i am currently building my own utility plane, as it least I am the quality control and can design a plane for me, that i would like, as i see no decent planes to buy I have money but the choice is so poor these days I'm left having to create my own. its ll elfight parkzone reay to fly garbage. sloppy control surface and low quality seems to be run of the mill these days It seems that the quality has deteriorated to as my RC freind recently bought a repro of the Big Wig and he keeps having issues which brushed speedos which claim to be able to handle 12 turn motors but lack both punch and the ability to cook his pack whislt running around at 8mph In the old days a speedo said 12 it could handle a 12 but now you put a 15 in a speedo rated 12 and you get cutout ? and they are reasonably good speedos not eBay £5 quid jobbys which i have and surprisingly never blew up or cut out. Is it just me or are these modern motors garbage? my old 12 turn Reedys where explosive in a 2wd buggy, now they seem like a pale version of a 19 turn...are they using weak magnets these days? I had a reedy MVP 27turn stock in my TC3 that would leave these motor 15 turns in the dust All im saying is in the old days radio gear was a lot better although pricier and it was at least understandable, I've been researching Brushless lipo set ups and it just seems there so much contradictory opinion im quite baffled. It seems one has to take the plunge, albeit an expensive plunge only to end up with......... almost the same performance and a brushed set up...bogus as ..... Planes i get Brushles lipo stuff , because you can look up thrust values etc....Although more and more edging towards a motor glider with ailerons, as I just want to relax when flying rather than living on the edge of a pulmonary. what ever happened to Slowfly planes that was a cool thing I loved my Ikarus Bleriot, that could fly at walking speed it looked very spooky However it seem like there's so much more faffing about than there used to be which is why Im selling off various bits of my RC car detritus....No don't hold your breath i haven't got an old Tamiya Porsche 959 Just a Tamiya DT02 Kumamon/Sand viper it comes with both shells and even a tatty but original Box! its ballraced with oil shocks and has a 12 turn motor, hardened pinion gear,a budget but adequate Speedo, the chassis its a bit scratched but in good nick the Kumamaon shell has never been driven outdoors and the sand viper is in very good condition .I can through in a Jaguar 27 mghz 2 sticjktransmitter too, all you need is a pack and its ready to go.£35 ono Also a team associated RC12 5.1 rolling chassis which I used as a hack about car on tarmac,,,yes noob move, but its better than a mardave....hence the price £45 ono i have a few spare sets of wheels and a really beaten up shell protoform Lemans type circuit shell ..It drives beautifully but i dont especailly as i mainly drunk drive these days, me and a couple of mates go for a few beers and then drive our Rc cars in the carpark. the Rc12 just become to hard to drive after the 3rd beer which is why im sticking with the m chassis I will post some pics asap PM me if you are interested or wish to make an offer as i just want rid of them and hope they go to someone who will appreciate them...if they wont sell i might just bin them or take them to the shooting range and put a through rounds through them both I'm just going to keep my M05 as a hack about car although Im tempted to back convert to an M03 because in my opinion the M03 is a better hack about car, (maybe not racing) its lighter more enjoyable and doesn't strip gears....i just wish i could get an old Wagon R shell as i have nostalgia of driving one with a 14 turn motor which promptly wore the front tires out in a single run! Nostalgia just aint what it used to be! PS apologies for spelling the old dysloxia is a pain in the boom PM me or reply on this thread if your interested i can mail them to you or you can meet me if you are in "hipster" East London

  2. I definitely second the Mardave route. We run an Assassin Mini heat every week, a lot of fun for not a lot of money.

  4. We proudly unveil our new super car body design XS5 Max. The XS5 MAX is designed with a 1:1 scale realism of a mid-engine supercar proportions. We developed the XS5 Max with advanced modeling techniques. Sophistication and refinement were the main inspiration keywords while creating the body. Sculpted twisting lateral surfaces gliding from the front to the back both vertically and horizontally creating a dynamic design language. Styling features such as wide muscular fenders, low roof-line and vertical head lamps help forming a powerful stance. Besides styling works a special effort was put on the aerodynamics of the body to create a balanced down-force on the front and on the back to keep control on the ground for dynamic cornering. The XS5 Max is available in Pro version. The Pro includes a Barracuda Tune Pipe, 7075 alloy Max chassis, alloy shock tubes, alloy engine carrier plate, alloy rear stiffener, ball bearing ackerman plate, alloy lay shaft carrier set, 7075 alloy front and rear wide multi-hole towers, front and rear alloy wishbone holders, front LSD, center locked, rear open differentials. A unique feature of MCD cars is the convertibility that allows you to easily convert your MCD models to any model. From XR5 Max to XS5 Max or shorter wheelbase models XS5 and XR5 to XS5-Max. You can even convert your off-road cars to XS5 Max. The XS5 Max Pro comes with a basic decal set including the window frames and the lights. 5. Something that's well out of my comfort zone Need to get a transmitter and some batteries, thinking a DX8 Gen2 for the transmitter as the plane has the option of flaps if/when I want them. I have no idea where to store it though 😂

  8. Hi, Sorry - no spares. I've sold both Spektrum TXs so may consider removing the RXs as there is less value including them now. Undecided at this stage but if I choose to do so I will message you to see if you're still interested.

  9. I run that fuel in my HPI nitro MT, it seems to work ok. Got some new wheels and tyres for the Nitro MT to go with the new body, the tyres are a bit small than the proline's that were on before.

  10. Why not get kamtec/mardave bangers 2nd hand and let them smash the hell out of them. Parts cheap and each kid could have a shell each for less than a tenner and the can race in their own colours. Sent from my SM-T820 using Tapatalk

  11. Perhaps it's down to cost. If you're racing 5th scale outside of a stock class like FG minis, you're already paying a small fortune and let's be honest, 5th scale off road these days in Europe is barely off road. All the tracks are flat AstroTurf, with tiny jumps made from ply wood. Youve more chance of having a crash walking up the drivers podium.
