  6. My friend from youtube painted it for me this is his 1st propper shell but hes painted two others before but went to art school once hes up to speed with lexan painting im sure he will do some even better stuff i couldnt be happier with this and once ive added the stickers will look even better. I should have the shoo goo in afew days so i will be reinforcing it too since the cage will rub and stuff. Im finding it really difficult to get the throttle linkages to work propperley my carb sticks open at 4mm and if i remove the servo horn the throttle linkage pings up towards the air filter im sure its always done that but i think its worse now and could factor with the sticky carb. Ive tried all the grub screws from the linkage to the carb level i have the integy carb level ready to fit which is alloy and uses two bearings if that doesnt help then i might have to cave in and carry it to wheelspin for a set up. But im worried theyll know as much as me there not much is standard so theyll probably read the same websites i have and then charge me a ton and it might not fix it or something. Any ideas?

  13. Yep...have to agree with Carpmart, nobody will stump up huge sums on a used Baja. Used values on these just doesn;t reflect the money that goes into them. Standard it would probably make

  21. I didn't say anything negative or hateful, I was the only person to mention that the LK is flawed for his application, a cover is completely unnecessary should he of purchased the correct motor in the first place. I didn't even know he purchased it when I made my post and he should be thank-full I'm the only one to of raised that the vented motor is a risk. Don't know why the finger was pointed at me their Bez, think you need to chill.

  22. Thing I don't understand Is why people always feel the need to be negative over things. Rather than always saying "oh you shouldn't have done that" try offering constrictive comments instead "why don't you make a pre-filter to slot over the vents to stop debris entering the motor" I'm seeing this more and more on the forum just seems to be loads of hate, everyone has the right to do things their own way. Just because their way is different than yours doesn't make it wrong. Offering solutions make for a far better community that slagging off others choices imo

  23. Soon. I will see if anyone has a spare tonight if not online jobby...again! If you want to freight it over, I have no issues working on it for ya. You cover the costs here and ill do the same back. I have more than enough spares for another 2 builds so could do yours without a problem. You can then make tweaks where you want. Some of my family who moved a good 10 years ago now living just outside of Syndey and still been meaning to go out and see them just work is a little tense so time off is never enough. Ideally want to hit Sydney, Mebourne, Gold Coast and then do a road trip from coast to coast but will try and just take a few months to do all that. Dont bother looking at where my ESC sits. Its only temporary as I want it further back. The servo was a good one since it uses one of the holes already. The only downside is my build has no support in the middle where the battery used to sit but gives it that little bit of extra flex I wanted. If you are running a front one way, dont bother flipping the diffs to give the battery more space since the front then becomes useless. I found out the hard way.

  24. Was a ticking time bomb....someone had to light the fuse.... Personally, I just find it very frustrating to see someone ignore help and guidance and then invest more money into something just because they can, especially a young person who has a lifetime of spending to come. Just how I was brought up, cut your suit according to your cloth. Guess I am just old and boring lol...

  25. I am not surprised tbh, throwing money at a project without proper research doesn't guarantee success. The 5ive is a big, heavy, power hungry truck but doesn't require as much kit to get it moving as many seem to think. I appreciate that currently, aside from the myriad of spectators, only myself and Jack can testify to how well mine runs, but she does it without trying.... And looking again at the shell, I forsee rear tyres issues when those wheel arches cut in as the suspension compresses, as the rear offset is too great. I suggest running stock rims whilst fitting the DDM edge trim. This build attracts criticism because of the lack of proper and practical thought that has gone into it, especially when proper advice has been given. Trying to do it alone and prove that you can spend more money than anyone else shows your immaturity and stubbornness, not attractive character traits to have, let alone display. A fool and his money are soon parted.

  32. i forgot to check aquarium air line ones at the gf but you would likely find then any fish shop with air line, im just going to take motor in pocket to check size, failing that i would think local hobby shop will have nitro fuel line and some straight connectors for it you can use.

  35. That is a good idea. Wondering if I have that much energy to make a new mount to try that also...maybe As for today, well my bearings arrived so I made a little time lapse video of me stripping the chassis and putting it back together. Getting quicker at doing it Here is what I had to replace asap... Hopefully tomorrow I should see the arrival of a new belt and then I can run a decent countersteer setup for once!

  38. If you plan on using it on the road, then it would need to comply with all current UK legislation, and would need to have all it's extra gear certified by the appropriate people as well as needing insurance, MOT, tax etc. I would also expect it to be somewhat problematic to get insurance as well.....as any 'modified' car tends to get the brokers jittery. They would probably be happier to hear you had bolted a 6 litre twin turbo motor running nitrous oxide into your Golf than to find out you planned to sit in the back and drive the car via a few servos and a

  41. Im late to this hobby at 34, ive been into classic cars for years and that eats alot more money. I have at times wondered why and how ive spent so much money on it, but after a good day out with it i realise it doesnt actualy matter, any hobby costs money and if thats how you enjoy your money, so be it. Ive been ribbed at work for my 'toy cars', but these are the people that drink all their money away down the pub. Id rather have a toy car to show for my money than a damaged liver. As far as getting frustrated with it, it makes it all the sweeter when it does go right.
