Innovative RC LCG TVPs

So I decided to replace the old non-X TVPs on my Savvy, I went with the IRC 6mm extended 4mm thick LCG TVP kit. I ordered it on thursday, and it arrived today. Great stuff good.gif It was really well packaged, with each component in individual bags with the package. Here is everything included:

That's the TVPs themselves, heavy duty engine plate with drive-cup cutout, heavy duty extended front dogbone (same length as a standard rear item) two chassis braces and a skid plate. It also included a full chassis screw set, which was nice. So I cracked on and tore down my savvy, here is the IRC chassis partially assembled:

Engine, gearbox, brake & throttle servo and linkages installed:

Battery/radio tray with mid tank mod done:

And here it is finished:

I'm really pleased with it, the quality is outstanding and it puts my standard TVPs to shame, they are like cheese in comparison. Total chassis extension is around 12mm, not a huge amount but enough to make a difference, and it gives the chassis much better proportions with the Big Joes. Here it is with the shell fitted:

Just enough extension to make the proportions much better then before.

I'll take her out for a good bashing session tomorrow to see how they've affected handling/stability, and going by other peoples experiences I don't think I'll be disappointed cool.gif

Well I took it out for a bit of a bash today and..........wow, what a difference. I had already improved stability by lowering my Savage but combined with the LCG TVPs the difference over a stock Savage is night and day, I can actually corner without it falling over every 10 seconds ;)

In fact it's not far off my Truggy in the handling stakes now, it's very impressive. I can get on the brakes and turn-in aggressively and it just bites and turns, if I had tried that when it was stock it would have just fallen over like a drunk slapper on a Saturday night out.

I didn't get the chance to do any jumps (was just on some local flat gravel), so have yet to find out how it has affected in-air handling. One thing I was expecting was the 12mm extension to stop it wheeying, but the silly torque of the Z30R still lifts the front end on demand :D

All in all a VERY worth while upgrade in terms of both looks and performance. Worth every penny :good:

You're right, the wires could use tidying up, but lack of room after the mid-tank mod led to that. It hardly 'ruins the truck' though rolleyes.gif

I do intend to tidy them, just need to find a small box to put the RX into that will fit in the small space in front of the tank. It's not a huge priority though, despite looking a bit untidy the electrics are all securely held in place and completely out of harms way. Besides, this ain't no shelf queen ;)

Have you seen the Hellfire battery box mod that you can do? Mounts to the front of the front shock tower and is the perfect size for an r/x.. :good:

I have been impressed with the quality and speed of posting for all the IRC kit I have bought. For what you get, it's well priced, despatched quickly and really does come with EVERYTHING you need to fit it. I have a few of their bits on my trucks and can't fault it.
