Schumacher xtr 21 engine killing glow plugs

Erm, little help. Its running on the slightly rich side, good trail of smoke, but it keeps killing glow plugs. Gone through 5 in the last 2 days :(. Cant put finger on it, i even flushed the engine and fuel tank out to see if there was any crap in there that shouldnt have been. Is it a new engine job do u reckon? If so, would the Picco P3 pullstart be OK for it?

Thanks.

Lee.

take your head off andlook at your piston,if its pitted on the top you may need to add a head shim

lol had a brainwave. i found out my old engine out of the thunder tiger mta4 that i sold, but i kept the old engine. its the exact same engine! and I know it runs sweet as a nut. so now ive put old cooiling head on new engine, old carb, but now ive run into a problem, i cant get the flywheel off! its usually easy for me, usually comes straight off, but its like its welded on lol. ive scratched the old crankcase to **** and bent a screwdriver and snapped an old (luckily) hex driver trying to get the thing off to no avail. have to wait till i sell my gh world tour for another lol. bugger. Oh well it will be worth the wait.

the piston pits because it fires too soon, the head shim would put the timing right
