richhrly
Playing with Triggertrap's new Ada hardware prototype. It's fast. We used a Nikon flash for this, it's minimum flash duration is 1/40,000th of a second! 420FPS air pistol meets bulb. If people like it, I've a few more I can post!

Tamiyacowboy
i see your triggertrapping on FB richard. i do really like , thats really slowing down the frames like crazy. i also wondered if its fast enough to catch wakes in smoke. smoke filled clear box with bulb inside and then shot. apaches are awesome but they just remind me of starwars. come on dont say those flight helments dont look like starwars speederbike hats lol

It's not the speed of the Triggertrap that's the limiting factor - it's more the speed of the flash. We were actually dialing in delay on the Triggertrap unit because it was triggering so quickly and the BB hadn't hit the target yet! Once we had the delay sorted, we used a Nikon flash which has a duration of 1/40,000th (actually a tad faster!), and had the shutter on the camera was open for around 2 seconds in a completely dark room. To give you an idea, you can see the gasses start to bend around the lightbulb after the BB had broken the laser. We're going to try and get our hands on some ultra-fast flashes to see what we can get!
