foxy
Hi all I’ve recently brought a second hand hobao hyper st with the mac star 28 engine.I’m trying to put the Carb to standard i know the settings for the high speed needle and the low speed needle but this has a 3 needle carb and I’m not sure on the settings for the middle needle it’s been messed with so I need the factory settings to move forward. I know as a rule you shouldn’t touch the middle needle but some one has and I’m lost finding the factory settings. Any help would be appreciated cheers. locky
Middle needle is usually flush with carb body, https://www.cmldistribution.co.uk/diagrams/HoBao/Engines/HB_Engine_settings_MacStar_28.pdf

locky
The above shows the low speed needle. Your original question was referring to mid speed needle. High speed needle is where fuel first enters carb and is main flow control as you accelerate and the carb fully opens, labelled MNV. Low speed needle is the needle in the sliding carb throttle, which controls flow at idle and inital acceleration, labelled STNV. Mid range needle is opp side to LSN, labelled SFN. Idle needle is for setting idle rpm, ie. the air gap, labelled TAS.
