X maxx upgrade problems

I've just spent a shed load of cash trying to make my x maxx quicker .I bought a hobbywing maxx 6 esc a hobbywing 1100kv motor a 32 tooth mod 1 8mm bore pinion and a 50tooth spur gear I also bought and mc2 motor mount along with an mc2 top plate . Videos id watch on utube had me belive this was a good set up and my x maxx would be much quicker.  However after fitting all these parts I found my x maxx now goes about 15mph ! Ouch and the brakes are poor . Not that it needs brakes at such a rapid speed . Lol . Can anyone please help ! What am I doing wrong !! Much appreciated 🙏

A few things:

A) that Max 6 ESC will blow up with that motor in an X Maxx, you need a Max 5 ideally.

B) what gearing are you running? Ive never heard of anyome running 32/50 Mod 1? Most go for a much closer ratio and mod 1.5? I think I was 25/35 with that motor, admittedly with a Max 5.

C) have you calibrated the end points correctly on your ESC? Or have you just plugged the ESC in and pulled the trigger? This would explain the brakes too.

Something's completely wrong here.

A: wrong ESC for the motor. Can work when lower geared, but that's not the case here.

B: gearing, what's the idea here? It almost looks like you looked at the chart that converts M1.5 to M1, and just went for the M1.5 gearing in M1. The gearing is roughly 22/34 in M1.5. The Max6 guaranteed will not take that without thermal cutting rather quickly.

I'll be honest, and don't take it the wrong way, but if you don't know what you're doing: don't do it. As you said, you watched a video of some random guy on the internet, did what he did (or so you think) and now the truck isn't working. Usually stuff like programming, calibrating etc is left out, so there's your start. You're just wasting money - just join the X-Maxx thread here prior to doing stuff, people can point you in the right direction before you drop a load of money on things that potentially hurt your truck more than it improves it.

As was said: calibrate the end points on the Max6, that might already fix it. Second, what batteries are you running? Third, at the very least, get some proper aftermarket scramjet fans for both motor and the ESC, i promise you'll need them.
