Tamiya TC-01 Chassis - Coming Soon

Could either be an ESC or RX.  Tamiya tend to use their own electronics for catalogue/brochure pics. Saying that though, looking at other pics I can make out another electronic device, just a servo and the device you've circled.

Good to see the adaption for 4 body posts, that means were not limited to just the FE shells.

Yep it is good.

Personally if I buy one it will definitely be staying as the Formula E model. I love all the aero and look of it, ...would be fun also to see how fast I could make it. 😎

Circled in red below is the mystery part. Does anyone know what it is?

Wondered if maybe it was a Tamiya ESC??

It's a Tamiya receiver (TRU = Receiver)

The ESC  is tucked under the damper on the other side

That's gonna be tight to wire up

Yeah tbh that look's a PITA.

I mean I love the look of this thing but I don't do shelf queens anymore, ...only runners and I'm not sure you could fit some of the ESC's I'd like to put in it. 🤔

Will be interesting to see when it does come out what space there is and what people are able to do.

That looks unreal I love it haha!

Does look crazy tight for electrics though! Whats the smallest stuff available? Looks like a regular sized servo and 540 motor, receivers are pretty small, but ESC height could be an issue?

Im sure it'll be fine as Im pretty sure Tamiya know more than me ;)

The names confused me, I expected a this to be a follow on from the TA, TB, TC

IS a TT02 replacement in the pipeline?

That's what concerns me, ...some of the ESC's I have used are quite tall with the fans on top.

Recently fitting a Hobbywing ESC in one of my other speed run RC's, a Serpent S120 which is 1/12th scale, I had to remove the fan in the end so that I could fit the body shell on it. Not having a fan usually isn't a problem though as with speed running I usually make one pass and then leave to cool but couldn't "bash" without an ESC fan for sure.

Won't be a problem though if people add a touring car body shell as you could make a plinth on top to mount the ESC and even RX but you couldn't do that if you want to run the Formula E shell.
