Hyper 8.5 conversion

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I'm new to this so I need some help before buying the wrong stuff.

1) From what I read the Hyper SS mount should fit the 8.5 but I don't know if all motors fit. Would a 4270 work? like this one: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-trackstar-1-8th-sensored-brushless-motor-1900kv.html

2) I'm thinking of buying the xerun xr8 esc and LOSA4461 battery tray. Will I need any more modifications to fit everything?

3) I'll be using 4S battery so with a 1900kv what would be a good pinion gear?

4) Would common M2 and M3 screws be enought?

Sorry if it is too much but better to be safe!

Many thanks

I would get a hobbyking 120a or 150a esc to go with that motor. I have one in my xray amd it works great on 4s with my 2000kv motor. It's got a sensor port as well and they are really cheap.

I think a 16-18t pinion will be best on 4s I run 17t on my buggy.

For motor mount screws I would get some 10.9 or 12.9 and they will be m3 or m4, not m2, they might even come with the motor mount. I would also use cap head bolts if you can as well as the heads are deeper than button heads and less likely to strip.

I had seen this esc: https://hobbyking.com/pt_pt/hobbykingr-tm-x-car-beast-series-esc-1-8-scale-150a.html?wrh_pdp=7

Problem is they're all out of stock =/

Yes I have the 120a version of that. Shame they are out of stock atm. 😕
