Savage Brushless Conversion ~ Alza

Stoka

Recommended Posts

Managed to pick up a real tidy and unmolested example of the original .21 Savage and I'm looking at converting it to brushless.

Does anyone know if the Alza center diff mounting kit for the Flux will fit the .21?

Diffs will need upgrading, plus the centre gearbox needs swapping for the Flux single speed internals. The driveshafts and axles could do with upgrading to the heavier duty late X or XL parts while you are doing it. Plus of course, the 21 probably still has 14mm hexes which will not be good.

I am a big Savage fan...and love the interchangeability of parts..but for a brushless conversion...the 21 is probably the most expensive one to do this to. Many parts were upgraded during the models life and most of them will need doing to take a decent brushless setup.

Just looked at the video and never realised it was 8 years ago, I had an old Hong Nor CRT, Made a bracket and used the centre diff, The drive shafts from the CRT also fit, This was on 4s.
