Disc Brakes

Hi, still getting to grips with gifted RC Nitro 4WD.  Car does not stop or appear to brake.  I checked servo and linkages all appear to operate correctly.  I have noticed that the brake disc spins freely.  I assume this is not correct.  Am I right?  Should the disc only rotate when the tx is turning?

Thanks

Simon

Depending on which car you have the brake disc will sit on the drivecup so as

the car moves the disc spins and when you apply the brakes it stops the drivecup so it stops

check the drivecup is not loose some have a grub screw

Thanks - pulled it apart today - the disc itself was a full circle rather than having ""straight"" sides to locate on the driveshaft cup.  It was never going to grab the xmsn.

Question - how tight or loose should the new brake disc be?  One video I have seen and the disc is really loose.

I reinstalled to have no drag in the brake off position - hope this is ok.

Thanks

Simon

The disc should be loose on the drivecup with no drag tighten the pads against the disc then back off a little till disc runs freely it also helps if you have a decent servo
