Would you own the land or lease ??. Have you got the initial capital to get the venture started ??. Security, insurances etc.

i think it’s a great idea, but turning hobby into a source of income can prove tricky and a lot of hard work, although can be very rewarding!!. :D

Well there will be 20x more work than you think and it will cost 10x as much as you plan.

First step would be to contact local council planing officer and get there advice. Noise is the biggest issue for large scale tracks and also if your planning a dirt track

you will only be able to run half the time due to weather. Theres a very good reason 99% of the national tracks are astro turf .

Ive been involved in 3 tracks / clubs now and its thankless back breaking work .

Unfortunatley Yelnats1 you missed the points of the posts we put up.  I’m a huge fan of entrepreneurs and new enterprise.  The issue is you’ll never make it financially viable if your having to lease land.  We have become VERY sensitive as a country to noise, which is your second and arguably bigger problem than being commercially viable.

As others have said it will be a heap of work. Planning permission, noise restrictions etc. I would forget about the shop idea as you would be unable to stock enough to cater for all the different models plus you have to think about utilities, insurance etc. If you want to go formal then you need to look at timing gear which is expensive.
