dazp1976
What mah battery you looking at? 5000mah or higher? Makes a difference for charger size required. For 1C charge: 4s 5000mah minimum charger of 5A 84 watts per battery 4s 6000mah minimum charger of 6A 100 watts per battery Hobbyking.co.uk is about the best place for lipo's on a budget, if you do order make sure you're on the u.k. site. http://www.hobbyking.co.uk/hobbyking/store/uh_listCategoriesAndProducts.asp?cwhl=GB&idCategory=86&v=&sortlist=P&LiPoConfig=4&CatSortOrder=desc Unfortunately they don't have much decent choice regarding charge/psu atm unless you order from global (import taxes may apply) In terms of charging, if you're only going to have a couple & don't want separate psu then maybe the best bet is 2 of these (1 for each batt) Would be running peak at 1C. http://www.modelsport.co.uk/overlander-rc6-vsp-80watt-7a-output-ac-dc-charger/rc-car-products/379060 Next for a dual type is one of these D200 which exists in other brands too. Gives full 1x100w on each channel from the AC. http://www.skyrc.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=213 Don't know the brand but 2 of these (1 for each) look the same as the overlander: https://www.robotbirds.co.uk/default/chargers-power-supply-leads/chargers/ft680-ac-dc-80watt-charger.html This will be plenty comfortable for 2x 4s (separate psu job) I'm liking the look of these. 2 of these: https://www.robotbirds.co.uk/default/chargers-power-supply-leads/chargers/b6-10amp-200w-super-multi-charger.html or 2 of these: https://www.robotbirds.co.uk/default/chargers-power-supply-leads/chargers/imax-x180-180w-dc-touch-screen-charger.html Powered by 1 of these: https://www.robotbirds.co.uk/default/chargers-power-supply-leads/power-supplies-mains-adaptors/fusion-power-supply-13-8v-30a-415watt-twinout.html Or my fave. One of these: https://www.robotbirds.co.uk/default/chargers-power-supply-leads/power-supplies-mains-adaptors/chargery-s600w-adjustable-power-supply.html Some of the dual type actually come out more than 2 individual ones I was going to suggest this D100 below but it's misleading!!! It gives 2x100w with a suitable DC psu but the AC built in supply is 100w total giving 1x100w or 2x50w which is no good so steer clear of any of the clone/copy branded D100's that look identical. http://www.wirelessmadness.com/overlander-rc-d100-ac-dc-dual-balance-charger-discharger-for-lipo-life-nimh-batteries-ol-2983?language=en¤cy=GBP&gclid=CKGbiZ7KlM4CFQcz0wodxZwNRw BOOM! Mind melted ya

A 4s 5000mah lipo on a side will take well over 1hr with the charger running at 100%. And then it's only pushing out about 45w due to efficiency losses. For charging a single 4s steer clear of anything 50w. Minimum you want is 80w per side/battery as suggested and 100w if you go for a 6000mah size. Don't know why they recommend this stuff Batteries are becoming bigger, lighter, more powerful yet they still come out with these low watt chargers that aren't up to par. It's a wonder new people stay in the hobby when they end up waiting nearly 2 hrs or more to charge up. To buy 2 of the Overlander 80w from Modelsport is less than £10 more than 1 of the C2020 and you get 50% more power. See what I'm getting at
fatboyslimdrift
OK so what shall I buy . 5 or 6000 I'm more than happy buying rather than buying something lesser And a good high output charger to do the job . Only want to buy it once rather than buy wrong now OK I'm not racing this is just a bashing toy But I do like to buy proper stuff for the job Without buying the most expensive
fatboyslimdrift
Right just checked out the list of chargers above . I see there all 30 and 40 ish quid . Now as I said prepared to spend around 100 or so on one . So what is a better one that will throw out good charging power As the fella said in above post I need plenty of power to charge a 5000 lipo Like I said this is all new to me hence joining group and asking . I don want to call a model shop and they sell me what they want to sell me and not what I need if people see my point cheers Sean
stretch
How about something like this http://www.hobbyking.com/mobile/viewproduct.asp?idproduct=57096 obviously you would need a psu. I have one of these http://www.hobbyking.com/mobile/viewproduct.asp?idproduct=12105 and it's charged my 2/3/4's without problems. You'll need a psu as well but you could buy one and 2 of these chargers and still be within budget.
mond
This http://www.hobbyking.com/mobile/viewproduct.asp?idproduct=57096 with an appropriate PSU looks like a great deal.
