The Arrma and TD cars follow the same model as Horizon does with Losi and Team Losi Racing 8ight and SCTE cars. Losi RTR cars tend to have cheaper parts like pressed metal components while the TLR versions of the same cars are all milled, lightened, contain option parts and come in kit form. Trust me Arrma is low end and whilst some parts from the Durango's will interchange there made to a highier quality hence why you see and hear guys swapping to the Durango parts as the Arrma ones break .. The crashes that thing has just brushed off is highly impressive. I ve owned the Typhon and can honestly say compared to other brands the Arrma 1/8th scale stuff is cheaply made and of low quality.. Thin undersized bearings sub standard plastics and poorly built diffs are not what I called well made again just my opinion but you can't argue with the fact ever owner has issues with these points at some time or another. Just looked and it looks like there o rings in the manual so I think there sealed but hen you look at the diff gear and the way it locks I can't see how the o rings would seal the diff .. The whole reason we use fluid in diffs is to produce some limited slip for occasions when a completely 'open' diff won't work - when that happens with this you just lock the diffs. I would have preferred to be able to control the centre diff separately but I can see why thats not be implemented - it would require an extra channel adding cost and complexity. Completely open diffs with no oil don't make for a good car overall just like all closed diffs don't. It looks horrible to work on. The guy on Aussie RC is almost trying to convince himself it's not hard to work. The scoops on the bottom as well look like they'll suck up dirt and water. But then you see the tarmac one and its very planted for what is supposed to be a monster truck. Again its that trying to be all things to all people coming back - giving it more ground clearance would make it roll too much onroad. Thing is if I got one I doubt I'd ever use it onroad, so I'd rather have a bit more height. It might be a pain to work on, but whether or not that matters depends on how often you have to work on it! My 1st gen Savage was awkward, and used to break all the time requiring constant work. My Mini Trophy is a total pain (you have to take the whole thing apart to access the diffs properly) but never needs working on much. Believe me i'm surprised how tough it is. I got mine just days after release and have only replaced the wing mount and the servo. It's been run on 4s probably 80% of the time so maybe that helps. I read negative stuff about them and its like they're talking about a different car. I probably just got lucky, it's certainly not down to gentle running and it's a car i'll never sell. It does but let's not forget no matter what he says Arrma have paid for the review by giving him the truck ! . It's very easy to lose footage in editing and underplaying issues that arise to keep your sponsors happy. Same can be said about any of the guys that get these for review. Your better off waiting for it to hit the shelves and see what real owners think rather than those that have been paid to big it up ! ..
