Okay thanks at the price point you posted I can't see this taking off Rrp of £389 is way to much even if it's got a cheeky £50 off its still £339 I reckon it needs to be in line with the little Losi MT at £289 myself to sell well ..

I hope it hits the shelves at lot less than estimated or the long wait might turn into a disappointing non starter for me :(

Pretty sure the losi was 329 at launch so it's in line. I quite like the losi tbh.

Ouch that's steep and no go for me at that price. You could have a revo or arrma for a bit more.

It's same price as yeti, wraith, typhon, stampede vxl, and the Kraton is only £20 more.

Okay so its £28 more, but you do get more aluminium, wheelie bar, better TX and 4S. The LHS told me they are built by another company and not Helion, he wouldnt tell me who though, it definitely doesnt look at the same level as their other stuff though. Still.... lots of money for 1/10.

Im not seeing to much that sways me from the Kraton V2.

Not any more its actually £49 more as the losi dropped in price and the losi has a 4s esc lol but the motor sadly only takes 3s but it still pumps out 50+ :) aluminum is good but its not the see all and end all if plastic is upto the job you don't need it. The wheelie bar is a nice touch though

The Kraton V2 is what £20 more and you get so much more for your money so i think this has outpriced itself..

It not being made by helion could work both ways good or bad !

Sub £300 and it's a winner anymore and it will lose appeal up against its well known rivals IMO

You cant compare launch price to settled price and the Losi is still only 3s out the box, add a 4s motor and you know what happens to the price, all those little extras add cost to the finished product, Losi has its name behind the product though.

Agreed, it definitely needs to be below £300. Different car but the Hyper VS is only £299. Im sure they will become more sensible with the price in the coming months.

Yep i get what your saying but both pump out the same speed at the end, 4s is great but at what cost to the truck in terms of wear and tear let alone 4s packs generally being more expensive.. The only real little extra is a wheelie bar imo yep it has alloy this and that but does it really need it ? this will be answered if and when folks buy them i guess.. You can weigh off some of the extras with a better esc and motor in the losi along with the losi having that centre diff where the Helion has a slipper the losi has avc although for me avc is a bust but it is there .. There are pluses and minuses for both though

I hope they do drop to a more sensible price soon and im sure they will like the losi did..

No, it really doesn't.

A brave move pricing against more well known brands....thing is, I think the quality is there. Let's be honest, if this had a big name behind it, would we be baulking at the price?

It certainly looks to have the quality and a high spec, the thing is the larger companies can use their branding to push the prices, its not right but people often buy for the name. I spoke to some HS's about Arrma and they turn their noses up (whos that etc. we only stock good quality like HPI/Traxxas etc). lol.

Seems difficult for smaller brands like Arrma and Helion to prove themselves to the masses.

I understand Arrma made good cars with poor electrics, but have listened to feedback and improved electrics. What they haven't yet managed to do is make spares readily available, which naturally puts buyers off.

Helion have the spares available and actually their electrics are pretty good, in fact, with the Select range, really good.

Being based on the four10sc, one of which I have poured over and seen running, this truggy will be durable and good fun. Personally, I'd stick to 3s....

Yeah, its weird Hobbico is the largest model hobby company in the world, they also own Axial and Durango. I think they are building their reputation up now with the 1/8 cars, generally rated as best bang for buck RTR out there and as you say they listen and improve.

Spares are quite readily available online, not so much in the LHS. However, they do have a 2yr warranty, Ive been in touch with their support department and have only had top class service so far (touch wood) and have read others have experienced the same.

I think 99% of the time 3s is more than fast enough for 1/10, 4s is insane but Id definitely like to try it anyway to experience the madness.

Still waiting on the Intrusion :(

These look nice but the price needs to drop to tempt me away from the Losi scbe

Nobody seems to know whats happening with the Intrusion (in the UK) which is a shame. Guess they think that market segment is covered by the Invictus.

Not really, the Invictus is 4wd, the Intrusion is meant to challenge the Proline Pro and ECX Torment etc as they're all 2wd.

Unless I've got that wrong somewhere?

Thats right, its 2wd, motor and ESC are the same, Im guessing theres a whole lot more thats the same, its basically a 2wd version of the Invictus. I dont think its going to challenge the Proline Pro.

What? I was talking the orange one being a Amewi AM10T but with Helion electrics. You quoted my mistyped "you" which I edited with "i" lol.

I know. The orange one is 60a slower motor but same chassis by the looks of it as you said. The expensive amewi v2 extreme has the new 120a. Either way it's safe to say it's pretty much rebranded across multiple distributors. Ot I noticed the marauder flux is also made by t2m and absima, had a look at one today.

It does seem difficult for smaller brands, but they have to give a reason for someone to buy them over a more well known brand.  Id imagine their strategy would be to have a couple of smash hits, priced low, and then they can compete with the bigger guns and up their prices? Look at Kia in the 1:1 world, I'm the biggest German Brand snob there is and love my VAG/BMW/Mercs. Kia put their money were their mouth was, priced well, with a massive warranty. Now they're getting pretty established, their cars are very very good and they can start to up the prices. If they had gone straight out at big money, they'd have failed.

Few more smash hits for Helion and Arrma and I'm sure they can justify been priced with the Losi's etc once they've built some brand recognition. I just don't think they're there yet?

Exactly that, look at Skoda, Sony cameras, Hyundai etc. Hobbico has some serious muscle to be able to sell cheap... for the time being.
