I bought a TA-01 Michelin Pilot Ford Escort Cosworth on eBay for just under £200. It had everything and was in reasonable condition except for the perished tyres, an unchangeable battery, and the unreliable MSC.

I upgraded it as follows

  • Etronix Probe WP Electronic Speed Controller

  • Tamiya RS-540 Sport Tuned Motor  53068

  • Tamiya Ford OZ motorsport wheels

  • Rally-block tyres

  • HPI Plazma 7.2v 4300mah NiMh Stick Pack Re-chargeable Battery

  • RW .6 Pinion 19 teeth

  • Bearing Kit

  • 50529 Plastic gear set

  • Blue 45 degree body pins

  • Aluminium Servo Mount - blue

  • Aluminium Wheel Hex Drive Adaptor With Pins – blue

  • Yeah Racing aluminium steering set – blue

  • GPM Aluminium Front hub carrier – blue

  • GPM Aluminium Front Lower Arms - blue

  • GPM Front C-Hub Aluminium – blue

  • GPM TA01 Alloy Front Gear Box BottomGPM Alloy Front Gear Box Bottom -blue

  • Yeah Racing Alloy Front Damper Stay – blue

  • Yeah Racing Prop-shaft

  • Yeah Racing Aluminium Rear hub carrier - t blue

  • Yeah Racing Aluminium Rear Lower Arm Set blue

  • Yeah Racing Aluminium rear differential cover – blue

  • Yeah Racing Aluminium motor mount- blue

  • Yeah Racing Alloy Rear Damper Stay – blue

  • GPM Racing 60mm Aluminium Adjustable Shocks - blue (silver springs)

I then fitted a top Force carbon fibre chassis using the following:

  • Fibre Lyte Top Force Carbon Fibre Chassis

  • ORB Racing Top Force Evolution  J-Parts

  • Top Force Evolution Deck Mount Bag

Then it was converted to brushless using the following:

  • Leopard SKYRC 3300KV 12T Brushless Motor

  • Leopard 60A ESC Speed Controller Combo ME716

Next I intend to upgrade to a LiPo battery, modern radio gear fit some adjustable turn-buckles

What else should I do?
