Yep, I replaced mine....

Have you removed the screws from behind the stickers? As I recall there are loads in total.....

Then it just pulls gently apart, the spring bit is a little fiddly so some long nose pliers are a must :good:

Thanks for replying I thought someone must have done it before.

Ah I did wonder if there are any behind the stickers, which stickers did you have to remove?

there are 11 screws to remove.

2 are under the sticker that says spektrum.

1 is under the front rubber grip.

1 is under the stick with DX4S written on it.

another is under the sticker with the spektrum logo.

4 are easy to find as you can see them without moving anything.

there are also 2 screws holding the AA battery tray in place.

you will need to remove the battery tray asway as the 3 stickers on the back of the tx and the sticker over the screen to get the 2 halves apart.

i took mine apart to paint the case red, and another one i painted purple and i've painted 2 others for people, it fairly easy once you know how.

Brilliant thanks for the info, yet another reason why I love using this forum.

When I've finished breaking mine I'll let you know how I got on LOL

What's the fault? Is it the dx4s only or 4c too?

It's a DX4S that I got when I brought the axial yeti. It's like new to be honest (still had the clear covers on the screen and stickers when I got it) and I'm a bit disappointed that it's broken as I've treated it very carefully.

The throttle doesn't centre anymore, I'm still undecided as I'm not convinced it's the spring if I'm truthful. Nothing came out or is rattling around that I can tell.

We'll see I'm a bit too knackered and short tempered to try it this evening I think.

Sooooo,

After some encouraging responses on here I thought I'd go for it.

So removed the stickers

Then unscrewed everything, remembering the battery tray and it literally just came apart. Watch out for the wires in the base the go between two parts it will lie flat though.

What I discovered was a bit of a surprise, I thought it was odd that I could see the spring and it didn't look lose.

The nut that holds the variable resistor onto the bracket was so lose it had fallen off.

Nut and washer back on (with a small amount of threadlock.

So thanks everyone for your help, all back together and working again [emoji2]
