Need advice re. My RC Dashboard

Hi guys..

Could do with some advice regarding my dashboard...

I've been working on the tilt screen..

Added a tilt dial, which hasn't got needles yet, but displays the uncalibrated pitch n roll. The little Landys took ages to get right, pixel by pixel...

Got current altitude and climb rate, along with an altitude graph..

Now the bit I need advice with...

I've got the gps trace working at 11 metres to 1 pixel (+/- 600m) but I'm adding a map size, to make that 2.4km and 4.8km top to bottom aswell...

All good, but very small.

Question is... Is it too complicated..??

I've still got a compass, heading home, and distance to home ready to display, but no room...

So..

Do I leave it as is, or, remove the map off the tilt screen, and create a new screen with a full screen map..???

Luv C.. xx

Sorry, I typed that on my phone.. Back to tab now..

Am I over complicating it..? It was only meant to be a light controller, now it's a lot more..

Shud I walk away from the tilt screen, or do you think a gps trace is worth having its own screen..??

IF.. Big 'if', I were to get this produced, would you pay

I could see it selling well. Tbh the more it does the more selling points it has.

I'd go for a separate screen for the Gps. Would it be possible to lay the route over a Google maps page? Even the ability to plug the dash into a laptop and compare routes with other people?

You could sell complete kits including all the wiring harness and everything for a lot more than 150 quid I reckon

Hi Cookie...

Thanks for that. I thought it was the way to go, but often what 'I' think is cool, is regarded by others (my non rc hubby) as nerdy.. So the GPS trace is cool enuf to warrent its own screen..

Regarding outputing to maps, in short, yes.. That's in the plan.

The screen module has a micro sd card slot for loading .bmp's, which i can use.

I can save the gps data to the sd as a csv file, which I believe is the standard format for loading into maps..

Luv Chrisie.. xx
