Hi all...I've got a stock brushless bugsta, I've purchased some 2s 5200 80c batteries running stock etronix w2.1 60a esc and 2950kv motor.

I've ran them a couple of times and nothing seems to be getting hot or causing it to misbehave. Are these batteries safe to keep running on that combo with that rating because no matter how much I read I can't be sure sorry thanks for the help

Yes its safe its only a 60amp esc and 80c battries are up to the task then some, those cars come with a 25c lipo pack and that also does the job just dandy.
Just keep them above the lvc and check the esc is in lipo mode to be safe.

That's brilliant thanks. It's going to sound silly but what does the 60amp on the esc mean...if my batteries are 80c which is constant current if I'm correct then why is the esc strong enough for a 80c battery at 60amp

On the subject of Lipo safety, what are the current (pardon the pun) best rated battery safes/bags/boxes? I'm not usually a paranoid person, but I live in a fairly compact first floor flat, with no shed/garage/outdoor storage access (beyond an unsheltered balcony). I also have a 2 year old daughter, so i'm keen to avoid recreating some Grenfell disaster while charging/storing lipos.

I did a search, but nothing concrete came up.

I've seen people using ammo boxes, so i was thinking store the bats in individual small lipo bags, in an ammo box on the balcony (while away, at work, etc.)? The only issue being, sealing it against the elements without creating a metal bomb!?!

Anyone had a run in with a disgruntled battery? Anyone in a similar living situation and found a good solution?

Thanks.

Hello! Im using this combo and noticed one thing: one of the batteries started to charge twice as long - I feel no temperature difference nor run time difference. Is this the beginning of the end for the lipo? Can something be done/fixed? I use them less than a year and only on weekends.

Newb LiPo Help
I'm looking to put a shorty pack in my 1:10 crawler usualy I run an Absima power tank 2s 5400 50c. I have found little 1000-1600 packs but, they have lower C ratings. Should I go for a higher C rate? It's going in an Absima CHR.4 Kahmbra that I just have fun with no comp crawling, little bit of bouncing an hill climbs.
Cheers in advance

You can check the discharge rate of lipos to see if they will be ok for your use, this is a quick easy read What Does "C" Rating Mean on a LiPo Battery (competitionx.com)

Lipo mAh x Lipo C rating = continuous discharge rate ( amps )

So the ones I use are 2.7 x 30 = 81 amps continuous discharge

The Kahmbra has a 60amp ESC so anything over that will do the job, I am not an expert on this but I used this for my crawler lipos when I got my 30c 2700mah lipos and they not gone boom and still work a treat 😃

These are the ones I use ..Appliance Electronics | Li-Po 3S 11.1V 2700mAh 30C Soaring with XT60

Hope that helps you pick a lipo.
