johninderby
I feel I'm starting to get somewhere with the black art of 3D printing. Loads and loads to learn of course but getting there. johninderby
How long did that take to print John? About 4 hours. Love to do the whole skeleton but dread to think of how long it would take. John
turok007
could you do more than one piece at a time.
johninderby
You can do a few small objects at one time but the limitation is that everything is printed one layer at a time and that means one layer at a time over the entire printing table. In other words the printer treats a group of objects as one big object. If it didn't and you printed one object completely and tried to print another the print carrage would hit the first object as it moves around. Trans4Mation
John that skull looks sweet, could it be possible to do a tank same as one on the right in pic ? Or even an oval one for hydro oil or would it eat the plastic away used ? https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-xIZwiUmQL70/UkBy9kszYYI/AAAAAAAAAHg/oW1Ufm0W3ek/s800/IMG_4652_zps350ddef0.jpg Edited March 28, 2015 by Trans4Mation
johninderby
Not sure if ABS is OK with hydraulic fluid. Would be possible to make a tank if it is resistant to to the hydraulic fluid. InnoPET polyethylene filament would be OK but only comes in natural colour and painting it black could be a problem. John

johninderby
If I win the lottery I'll get one of the new molten aluminium 3D printers. To be able to print out proper aluminium parts would really be fantastic. John
