  1. Hi peeps...... The GS Racing Storm CL-1 nitro buggy........ Has anyone owned / raced / used one of these? Not much info out there on the net. Where are they made? Have GS gone bump? What were the cars like? I know Nitrotek are the UK dealer for these but any info supplied who be appreciated. Thankyou. Karl.
  2. Seriously tho!! I use castrol synthetic. ????
  3. Tune the engine...... Lol...... Theres only a quarter if a turn you have to play with!!..... Never tuned me petrol strimmer or chainsaw and they run fine!! ????
  4. I got a 5ive a few weeks ago..... Pre-AVC model. I needed a descent radio for it so bought a new DX4S and it came with an AVC reciever. Ok. Upgrade conplete but telemetry wouldn't work. Found out you can only have one or other. Spektrum dont do an AVC reciever with telemetry yet. So I settled for the telemetry on the SR3300T original reciever over AVC but had to downgrade the tx firmware to do this...WTF!!! IMO they are all gimmicks, AVC and telemetry and your as well sticking to 2 channels for throttle/steering as the 5ive handles cool without AVC.
  5. Really need to sell as a job lot. Need cash for another project.
  6. Sorry. Havin trouble postin pic off iPhone. Logging on now and posting.............

  8. Ok guys. Really appreciate the help. It's starting to loosen up now and I've been giving it a few short full throttle blips as well as leaning slightly. What I'd like to know from those who are running the same engine is, although the standard settings are 5.5 for the HSN and 5.25 for the LSN, what are you getting the turns to after tuning? I know you'll all be different cause of fuels and cars ,setups but a rough idea of where I'm at would be a help. The HSN seems to settle about 4 turns out . Still plenty of smoke but decent acceleration and the LSN about .5 of a turn back from stock. Is this anywhere near?
  9. Forgot to add....... LRP .32 engine on the Savage ain't too tight. I heard horror stories of them being impossible to turn over when cold but I think i'm lucky enough to have got a easier one!
  10. Thanks guys for all your help. I have had another afternoon playing with the Savage. Got it sort of sorted.....put it back to stock settings - HSN 5.5 + 1/2 turn, LSN 5.25 - and loosened the plug to start. It was still hard but it did fire up. Had to leave the glow starter on longer though. Running ok...... great! .....till pull cord snapped.......1 hour later.......fixed......spare cord on order!!! I got it running through 6 (or 7 ish) tanks now on 20% and that's my half a gallon used. Going to buy 25% next. It didn't take long to get through the tanks as the mixture was really rich. Do you think it will be ok to start leaning off the HSN now? On the other hand, later, I got the Trophy Truggy 4.6 out for a blast ........ bloody love that car ....it's a demon!! That is running around the 270 degree temps though but got some decent smoke comin outta exhaust. May richen it up a tad to bring temps down a touch. That should be ok on 25% shouldn't it? Cheers,,
  11. Ok cheers. It's just a pain to start when rich. The only consolation is I'm keeping the revs down. I was under the assumption the engine needed a little heat to wear in properly! Obviously not near the 250 mark but 130-150 seems loads too cool?
  12. Hi all. I've been breaking in a new LRP .32........what a bloody pain..... I set the needles to stock...high 5.5 out and low 5.25 and I couldn't get it tickin over without the glow starter on. Also the temp - when I did get it goin - was in the 130-150 degree range...way too cool telling me it was way too rich. Plenty of oil spillin out the exhaust as well ! I found it much better leaning it off more than a full turn. I got it to go through 3 tanks with little more than ticking over around a car park so i've leaned it out but continuing to keep the revs down! I'm using 20% nitro as I have half a gallon already. Do you think this is causing issues? I intend getting 25% when I get some more after this has run out. Also, The pullstart cord has worn the corner of the plastic fuel tank!! *censored*!!! Anyone else had this and overcome this?? Any advice welcome.
  13. Hi and thanks for reply. It's not a case of centering the servo and trim. It's the fact that I'm not getting the servo travel to open the carb from idle at about 1mm to a fully open Venturi. From 1mm idle, it'll only open to 3/4 throttle unless I open it full with the trim. Problem is that I then have to adjust the trim back to gain the original idle!! ????
  14. Hi all. I got a problem where I'm not getting full travel on the throttle servo. It won't open the throttle full unless I adjust the trim then it won't close the carb to idle. It's one way or the other. I got the TF20e tx which, if I'm correct, has no end point adjust. What are the newer Savvy's shipping with? Is there an easy fix for this or am I better getting a programmable tx. I'm sure the flysky FS GT3C would be a cheap option?? I'd rather stick with the original tx though. Is there an adjustment on the throttle servo?? Thanks in advance. Karl
  15. That looks like it may do the trick. Any chance of PM 'ing me with a cost for part n postage??
