Hammy
Just ordered myself one of these kits to keep me busy. Enter the world of trails and mud!! A lot different to what I'm used to! (Drifting!!) 53HRA
They are brill, had 4 myself over the years.Never get old and plenty you can do with them. The Axial video is probably using the stock 27T motor.I personally think this has no torque at all.Look for something around the 35-60T and trust me you can make better and more realistic video then that Prepare your wallet for a beating lol, scale stuff never gets boring! Hammy
Lol yeah it's already struggling after paying out for the kit, and ESC and motor ( I went axial 55T) and servo and rx........ I want more parts already and haven't even got it yet!

heavyleftthumb
they are a nice build and take a while. so worth it when you see your rig going places. bring on the mud!!!!
Hammy
I had a flick through the build manual last night and thought its going to take me a while! The ESC I went for is the mtroniks tio rock c With an axial 55t motor. Power will be from nimh as that's what I already run
rawalker666
Consider going for a 35t motor to give a little more speed when you want it Just means your not flat out all the time and have a bit off kick to get up steeper hills if needed
Hammy
Ok mate thanks. I've got marine grease ready for building diffs. Is there anything else you guys recommend?
The Dark Knight
Did you consider fitting a brushless/lipo combo? Or is it not necessary in these?
Hammy
I didn't consider it tbh. If I was going to go brushless on anything I would put it in my drifter
The Dark Knight
cool, I'm just thinking for if/when I get one. I had a shot of my mates one last month, it was great fun
Hammy
Started unpacking a few bits last night and re re re read the build manual. Plus watched build vids on YouTube. Quick question. On one video I watched he used the grease that came with the kit and used quite sparingly in the axles. On another he went mental and filled the whole axel up with marine grease. On the paperwork it says about not using letting the model build up too much grease but as its a sealed axel surely completely filling it will do know harm will it? Axle only give grease to grease the gears. The whole point of packing the axels full is for running in water so the water doesn't have the chance to make it all the way into the gears. The manual mentions this because it puts additional strain on the motor and esc, they just dont want the complains of "my motor burnt out" or "my esc burnt out"
Hammy
Thanks for the reply Andy. I shall be packing it in then
Andyking
I use this is my wraith and seems to work pretty well. If you do intend on running it in water I highly suggest getting some stainless hardware because the stock bolts on my dingo started to get surface rust after the first use. Hammy
Lol it isn't taking me as long to build as I thought it would! I want another kit already! although SWMBO would probably moan as I've only just got this. Maybe I'll get a D90 shell to satisfy my build urge! Going to get some paint after work tonight. Although I wanted to use my airbrush I can't for the life of me find anyone local who sell lexan paint that isn't in a spray can!
