Help with broken Hobbywing esc needed please

Recommended Posts

I lost my first Xerun esc the other day. I plugged in the lipo, got the 5 beeps as i was using a 5 cell. Put the car on the ground and no power to the motor. Everything was wired correctly and the lipo was fully charged. There was no magic smoke or anything. The red light even came on when I gave it throttle as it should. I had steering but no motor power. I've stripped the esc and can't see any obvious damage. I'm thinking capacitor but the 3 large ones look ok. I don't mind paying

Have you got a program card?

Change the lipo auto detect to manual - and change the lipo count to 5s then try it - my esc's do not like going from using a 4s to 5s on auto detect. I'm pretty sure its an issue for hobbywing esc's and them not liking auto detecting odd cell counts

If you read the manual, HW themselves say to manually set the cell number.....

. As I stated, I got 5 beeps as I was using a 5 cell lipo. It was manually set to 5 cell, I read the manual about a year ago. I checked with the program box and it's still set to 5 cell.
