Its getting worse, has to be online, 24hr drm check on your software, Kinect always on and listening! the US alphabet agencies are going to love that, specialised trade in system that logs the software with the retailer and MS, MS takes its cut from 2nd hand software, approx. 10% margin for the retailer, you could be looking at

Zavvi will put down prices stupidly lower than everyone else in order to get the most pre orders. So they get the units for a larger discount.

Its all speculation though isn't it.

200? 300? 1000? No one knows sooooooooooo?

Last night was interesting. The more I look at it, the tables have turned. The PS4 looks more promising in terms of "game lending" and cost.

Wonder if it is too late for Microsoft to scrap their system for being online constantly and secondly the resale of second hand games. I can see this being quite a deal breaker for some including me.

As I work in the industry itself, how glad was I and all the other people to see Sony being refreshingly up front about pretty much everything last night

Of course it's all objective but I do believe the worm has turned on this one, great stuff Sony

I don't understand why Microsoft don't just change their online sign-in requirements to be when you're playing from the hard drive only. If you have the disc, you should be free to play offline, and it would solve a large amount of the complaints about it.

You could always, you know, unplug the console [/tinfoilhat]

I have worked for them in the past and yes it was refreshing to see them being upfront however my gut is still telling me they waiting on purpose to gauge the reaction of the public to the Xbox One.

I still have a feeling there is another motive here but not sure what it could be but either way, Microsoft seem to have a loaded shotgun pointed at their own foot.

Because of the kinect isn't it? The spec of the actual consoles themselves are pretty similar (arguably the PS4 should be more because of the GDDR5) but the kinect has its own processor/camera etc. which bumps the price up

they share the same Jaguar cores, but that's about it, As far as E3 goes, MS had a great press conference  only let down by a overpriced underwhelming, always online, DRM nightmare train wreck of a games console. I noticed Jack Tretton's opening salvo was all about DRM and offline gaming(ps4), which I believe will be a big divider when it comes to choosing which one, according to members of beyond3d forum there is considerable more GPU compute with the PS4, especially more so that the Xbone latest rumours are suggesting a GPU down clock due to yield issues at their foundry. TBH I find both consoles a little underwhelming overall, but being in the MS camp since the Xbox's inception which included a US imported machine for the greatness that was Halo CE and a Xbox live beta player about 9/10 years ago, I find myself leaning heavily towards the PS4 as Sony to me seem to be saying the kind of things that I like as a gamer.
