Mad Monkey Problem (Gears?)

Hi I have just found out the my ESC can have up to 20t so I am gonna buy the hpi fire bolt 15t would this make Much of a difference ?

In speed ?

Like I said earlier the lower the T rating the faster the motor so the 15T is  faster than the 20T, you said your esc can handle motors up to 20T if you think of it in terms of down to 20T but not below 20T it might be easier.

You've probably lost some screws.

All the motors are threaded and screwed in from the gear (cog) side, probably 3 screws, if you can move the motor around  with your fingers or if there's play in it the screws are loose or missing and the motor pinion (small cog) is loosing contact with spur (big cog).

Hi my motor has stopped working completely I think it's because it kept overheating. so I am gonna upgrade my ESC to a 12t and get the hpi firebolt. Would this be ok and how Mutch speed difference should I get? My old motor was and 18t and I am upgrading to a 15t.

Oh the motor is brushed and its an Ansman clash 540 21T motor

Didn't you say earlier the motor is a 21T if so I guess if your going to a 15T it should be at least 25% faster, but if you get this ESC you will be able to use LIPO batteries which will give you even more speed.

Lipo batteries are more powerful than nimh batteries which came with your car check them out here http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/topic/21028-lipo-the-big-guide-thread-updated-march-10/

I don't think any of those esc's are lipo compatible this one can take both types of battery.http://www.modelsport.co.uk/modelsport-uk-sniper-rv-12-assault/rc-car-products/37403 but if your on a budget I would stick to the first esc you posted but I read it wasn;t tested so your taking a chance the other one is overkill and doesn't give enough info.

Just saw this would be fine for your set up http://www.modelsport.co.uk/nosram-international-power/rc-car-products/33361
