danny boy
hey guys, well ive decided to do some sort of on-road scale build, unfortunately the only spare car i had was a 12th scale pan car, which didnt stop me, so i had a look round and came up with a toy spec Porsche rc car, with a 12th scale shell, i got it tested fit, and win for me, its the right size, so i be vacume forming the shell to make a proper rc body for it then fitting and painting it, one thing i cant decide is to keep the rear wing or not, what do you guys think? Without wing with wing i know it looks scruffy now, but that will be sorted out. Oh and er, yes, i will be trying to fit bigger front wheels lol. Thanks
landmaxdriver
definitely without the wing and are you sure you've thought about how your going to vacuum form it mate? you may find that the mould will get stuck inside the vac formed body Edited December 6, 2011 by landmaxdriver

Cheese85
It kinda looks better without it, but more realistic with it. not to mension, more Porsche! Edited December 7, 2011 by Cheese85
Dave'n'Claire
I am looking forward to seeing this develop. I have a similar idea using a 'toy' 1/6th scale just for the shell.
Juggernaut jims
Keep the wing looks better for the timescale of the car.
BigALW
for vacuum forming you could try http://www.instructables.com/id/Make-a-good,-cheap,-upgradeable-sheet-plastic-vacu/ for a home made one. Years ago I made Mini stock shells in ABS, started by pouring plaster of paris into an existing shell then modding it for my own design then moulding over that.
