Seems to be based on extended Avante chassis with Super Levant body and wheels. Considering the fragility and outdated performance of the AV, as wells as the high price and mediocre looks, the team of Tamiyablog is quite disappointed. Also its specs aren

The 'Avante Truck' reference came from a stockist listing, it's now called the Vajra (or Vajazzle, Viagra etc)

At the minute, it's not clear how much 'Avante' there is, but it's quite a similar layout, going by that little thumbnail on the box

Not a great looker and with the Avante's rep for being a bit fragile, not the best base to build a truck on

It's difficult to say for sure, but it looks like they may have ditched the big, metal ball ends (looking at rear upright)

Fragile is not the word for the Avante!

I have an Avante 2001 & that was FRAGILE to say the least!

I lost most if not all my races back in 1990 when I raced it. yet won loads with my Hot Shot 2 & Turbo Ultima!

Look a great buggy back then, Looks a great buggy now. But that's about it!

How the hell is that Suspension gonna work on a truck? It didn't work on a buggy!!

Its pronounced ''Varge-Ra'' according the Tamiya Rep.

I'm sorry to say I like Vaj better.I think I might get one just so I can offer some one a go on my Vaj

We men, we never really do grow up do we!!

Tamiya seem to be bottom of the pile these days. The re- res & what not are good, but can we have something new?!

In the past 2 years, they have had the TA06, TRF417, TRF511, TRF201, FF03, M06, F104, TA05-VDF, TRF801X and others.

Thats more new chassis than Traxxas have made in the same time period.

I'm not sure you do want something new.....

Because earlier this year they released a new car nobody on here seems to have noticed - the Zahhak. Based around the TRF201 its a totally new 2wd (compared to the non-TRF range)

TRF's don't count (except the 201) because they aren't actually imported into the UK.

But you are right - Traxxas have a much more limited platform range, and in fact have only released 1 new chassis (the Slash/Stampede 4x4) for some time. Everything else is a variation on a theme.
