  1. I've got back from Denver today and I did infact get to The Crawl Space. I picked up a TRX4 Sport Kit and a HH Trailmaster 550 21T and a CrawlMaster 540 13T for $345 (£270). Need to order the ESC, rx and servo now. Best work out what colour to paint the body!
  2. Thank you. Brushless setups obviously are still very expensive for crawlers.I'll stick with brushless.
  3. It's just I already have a the packs so may as well use them to start. Thanks for all the information. Maybe i'll get one of each and then I have options on the motor Is brushless really needed in crawlers?
  4. Thanks for the info. How big is the battery tray in a trx4? Would I fit in my 5200mah 2S LiPo? https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-5200mah-2s-30c-hard-case-car-lipo-pack-roar-approved-1.html I notice they do different turns in the Crawlmaster; is there one thats best suited for general use?
  5. Hi All, We're just in the process of buying a beach hut to enjoy time down by the sea a bit more (not that we live that far away). I thought it might be fun to get a crawler / trail truck to run down at the beach. We have a lot of stones, large groynes and obstacles that could be challenging. We also have a big park on our door step to use it in. I am off to Colorado next week and found a great looking shop called The Crawl Space that specialises in crawlers and trail trucks. They have a nice selection of kits (https://thecrawlspaceonline.ecwid.com/Truck-Kits-c28094797). I think I'd like a kit as I enjoy the building as much as anything else and it's easier to get back in the suitcase I understand that the TRX4 is actually a pretty good kit; after my recent Traxxas experience I am quite put off about their overall quality. Is the TRX4 a good kit to start with? Would a car from the UK (such as a Carisma or FTX) be better for a beginner? I'd probably run brushed and with my GT3C radio.
  6. 3800Kv 3660 would be fine as it has the torque for a 1/10th truggy. As said you can get it in 3300Kv as well
  7. Check the motor. If you've run on sand then you could have tons of sand in the motor. Motor bearings don't like this too much..... I know from.experiencd! Changed them to orange seal bearings and much smoother
  8. I'd see if you could fit in a 3660 (36mm diameter 60mm long) can in there. Be much cooler running https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F222963634227 Or it can be had with the 60A ESC and 3300kv
  9. What c rating are your LiPos? If they're a low discharge they could be overloaded. Does the car move freely? No binding?
  10. Looks lovely but being a traxxas will require much more dough plowed in to make it reliable. Having had two traxxas models in the past they needed far more nurturing than anything else (well maybe not the Carnage I had!). I spent less time fixing an Ansmann Mad Monkey than my MERV !
  11. Managed to break a front knuckle on my Hyper ST today. Does anyone have X2/X1 CNC front knuckles (X1S-07) for sale? Seems like a sensible mod.
  12. You could try thread locking the screw in. That should take up the slack. Or filling with JB weld and then redrilling a new hole and self tapping screw
