  1. Yes, cell count is ok. Batteries ok. I think charger is faulty
  2. Hi there, I have recently bought an Overlander RC6-VSR charger. I charged two 2S Lipo packs with it and after a car run used it to put the packs to storage voltage. When I tried to recharge the packs I got an error message saying Battery check... Low Voltage. I checked the packs with a voltmeter and both were showing 3.8v per cell so the voltage was fine. The charger will not charge the packs unless I remove the balance lead, then it starts fine. Any ideas what I am doing wrong? Cheers Brian
  3. Thanks bertberr, luckily nothing has broken yet, maybe I need to try harder ๐Ÿ˜ I like the idea of identical packs as this eliminates the potential for mishaps/risks with charging. I could just get two more identical batteries to what I already have but wondered if there is a better solution. Are some makers of batteries generally accepted to be better than others? Not worried about increasing speed at this point, just longer run time.
  4. Hi All, I am using 2x 2s lipos but looking for greater run time than the 30 mins ish I am getting. Can anyone recommend the best batteries for some longer run time Thanks in advance Brian
  5. Cheers, think I need to get some additional batteries
  6. Hi jumper, what run time would be the norm with 2x Lipo 2s?
  7. I run my car with my daughter for the first time tonight. So much fun. We both loved it. ๐Ÿ‘ I am running 2x Lipo 2s 4000mAh with the Low voltage cutoff set to 3.4v and the car run for about 35 mins. Is that about right for run time ?
  8. Super, thank you both for your help ๐Ÿ‘
  9. Hi I have just bought by first RC buggy, the Hyper VSe power bundle from Modelsport. I am learning fast but I do have some newbie questions as I get to grips with the kit purchased. In the box was a warning slip that says the HB-5518MG servo accepts 4.8-6.0 volts and exceeding this limit will damage the servo. The bundle came with 2x 7.4v 2S LiPo batteries which suggests that the battery power is too much for the servo. Am I misunderstanding this information? I am sure that Modelsport would not have supplied non compatible kit but I am keen to understand the information supplied wit the kit that I have bought. Cheers Brian
  10. Thanks Nathanio, Is it necessary for the arial to pass through the body or can it stay under the body? Seems a shame to drill a hole in the body TIA Brian
  11. Hi there, I am new to the hobby and have just purchased the RTR Hobao Hyper VSe. The car looks great and I am really impressed with the build quality but for a total newbie the instructions are less than complete and I have some really basic questions that I hope you can help me with to get up and running The purple tube in the photo below was in the box but there is nothing to explain what it is for - is this something to do with the receiver antenna ? Is the wire sticking out from the side of the car in the second picture below for the receiver antenna? does this lay loose in the car under the body? What is the silver spring mounted on the side of the receiver box? The car looked low to the ground out of the box. I will be using it initially in local parks on a mix of grass and dirt tracks. Is it best to set a higher ride height. I currently have the adjuster on the shocks set half way down the threaded section. What would you advise to start? Sorry for the first day at school questions Brian
  12. Thanks AJ and others that have taken time to share their knowledge and advice. After 35 years of waiting I wave just placed an order for my buggy...... the HoBao Hyper VS Brushless power bundle 1 from Modelsport. Does anyone have any recommendations / tips on things to do or not do before running it for the first time and on its first run? I did read somewhere about applying gaffer tape to the inside of bodyshell to stop them cracking and splitting on impact. Is this worth doing? Any other tips? Cheers Brian
  13. Thanks for all the help so far. Think I am set on the HoBao Hyper VS - 100 amp model Does this power bundle 1 offered by Modelsport represent reasonable value? https://www.modelsport.co.uk/hobao-hyper-vs-1-8-rtr-brushless-buggy-blue/rc-car-products/396616 I am looking for a nice easy launch into the hobby and so a ready made bundle put together by industry specialists seems to make sense to the uneducated
  14. Thanks bertberr, thatโ€™s really helpful. Iโ€™ll check it out and hope to get something ordered soon.
