ostewart
I've got a HPI Blitz with brushless which does me for bashing at speed. Looking to get a scaler at some point for some trail driving. What's the best on a budget? Tamiya CC-01? Thanks, any suggestion welcome up to Edited October 18, 2014 by ostewart
flashdaniels
I had a CC01 but quickly got frustrated with it. I enjoyed building it and liked the scale looks but was disappointed with handling. I sold it and went for a scx10 which in my opinion is much better.

53HRA
Sawback is nice, but suspension set up and shocks are toooooo stiff out the box,but the build and quality is great. CC-01 is pretty much a trail rig and doesnt go anywhere a proper scaler would! Out of owning a Sawback,CC-01,RC4WD TF2,SCX10,Tamiya Highlift and a couple more the SCX10 is far the best out the box with loads of extras on the market to upgrade most parts. My advice would be save a little extra and go for SCX pal,it wont do you wrong

ostewart
Anybody got the Vaterra Ascender? I see the SCX10 Wrangler G6 has the aluminium steering setup which is a good upgrade.
ibo
This is my 2nd Sawback build now,the only drawback is the stock screws, all phillips, urrrr however this build I used a steel hex set far better just waiting now for a load of alloy hopups to arrive.. ostewart
Looks sweet. Shame about screw's though. Torn between SCX10 G6 and the Ascender. As the ascender is cheaper. The SCX10 Dingo is fairly cheap but the shorter wheelbase and lack of aluminium steering rack makes the G6 the better buy. I won't have the money for a while, so still plenty of time to decide. supersavage
I'm really enjoying my G6. Here's my thread if you want to have a look http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/topic/190056-my-scx10-g6/

The Vaterra Ascender does look interesting but it's a brand new kit that hasn't been released yet (due end Oct). John
ostewart
Yeah, when I get some money I think I'm going to go with the Vaterra, this video from one of the designers is very interesting. If I get it at some point, i'll be back for ESC+Motor help
