  1. It's a good winter car, if you're more of a fair weather driver who likes to put his best kit away during the worst of the weather. That's why I got both this and my HBX.
  2. I think they are pretty good quality and great fun, great value for the money. I got the suspiciously familiar truggy looking one and would also recommend
  3. I have had mine about a week and the weather has not been favourable! Frustrating! Nevertheless I've had about 5 packs through it definitely feels unique to drive. Handling is really neutral and predictable, it's fast too. I'm dead happy! Would definitely recommend trying one out if you can. I put a in HW 150A ESC, a Surpass 2150kv 4274 motor and an ecoboost servo. Using a Dumbo radio. Heatsink for the motor is in the post cos boy it gets hot! A little running video from Friday evening here https://youtube.com/shorts/Im3-sAjGfkw?feature=share
  4. The postie brought me an Asuga XLR roller. It's big! HyperVS for a comparative scale 🙂 Can't wait to throw some electrics in it and get it out. HW 150a ESC, Surpass 2150kV motor and an Ecoboost servo should be good for now!
  5. Hyper VSe "sliding" chassis for sale. Described as "sliding" because it's got wheels and tyres but they're pretty knackered so I can't reasonably ask for them to be included in the price. It's got some miles on it but it's mechanically sound. Selling to make some room for an Asuga XLR, and I already have two of these... £80 inc postage Fully assembled chassis Upgraded HoBao stiffer orange springs (upgrade part) Skid plates (upgrade part) DS 3225 Servo included (25Kg) Front body mount mod/fix already done New hardly used spoiler Extra front shock tower Includes original HoBao grey springs Includes RW hardened steel 17t pinion that's been used with the car previously Additional chassis plate (hardly used) Old spoiler included Drive cups are fine - this car has only been run on 4S Diffs oiled, drivetrain is smooth No body, ESC, motor or Radio Come get a bargain for your next project 🙂 £80 inc postage
  6. At some point you're going to want to cut the cord with the Bugsta and move on to something faster and stronger, as you say. Might as well be sooner rather than spend more on the Bugsta. Talking from experience with an FTX Carnage. I've never seen a HoBao I didn't like, they're rock solid. I have a Hyper VS and a Hyper SS. Good price, great cars, little basic maybe but simple is sometimes best. FTX DR8 also looks really good, never driven one but always wanted to. Once you go 1/8 scale for bashing you won't regret it. The power, durability and how capable the bigger cars are on harsher terrain is next level.
  7. Just looking at a roller, they look really appealing. Might be my next project...
  8. Edit: cos I read your post incorrectly. On the receiver it's channel 1 to steer, channel 2 for throttle, always. Never known it to be different on any kit I've had
  9. Yes that's all you need to do. Consider looking at the spec of the brushless version and keeping fairly close to that, as running too high a power brushless system through it will cause you drivetrain problems. Like... it'll disintegrate.
  10. I got a set of Rival MT10 gearboxes. The fat screw broke loose again due to a front end landing. I love this truck but Associated sell such huge bags of bits I've got 2 spare rear gearboxes already and tons of stuff that comes with the skid plates set that I'll prob never need...
  11. Here's my "best" buggy - Hyper VS with upgrades - 7075 chassis, front shock tower and hinge pin holders. It's got Proline Badlands and +4mm hub extensions. Dusty motors cover essential with these unless you like constantly blowing grass out of the chassis. Corally long springs on the back, HoBao orange springs on the front. Ecoboost servo (pretty good) and a couple of fans. I put a Racerstar 4274 2250kV motor in it and a 17t pinion. It's an absolute beast and I love it 😄 Rips on 4S, terrifyingly good on 6S!

    RC Regret

ZD Racing Pirates 3 BX-8E for me. The buggy one. The motor mount was pants and the chassis really thin where the mount was screwed in. The mount moved if you even showed it a jump and it was forever stripping gears. I knew it was a lemon pretty much straight away, but I persevered hard. Then the chassis gave up where the mount the mount was screwed in, and I made custom mount plate which improved things a fair bit but it was never right. A few months later I gave up on it and bought a Hyper VS roller, and then realised that's what I should have done from the start. (So good I bought another Hyper 2 months later) Not an immediate regret but as someone said earlier, I was tentative at getting back into it and bought an FTX Carnage which just wasn't strong enough for what I wanted to do with it and it took far too much money off me before I got an MT10 and was immediately much happier.
  13. Welcome Ash. Good crowd here.
  14. Up for grabs I have a ZOP Power 4S 1000 mAh 30C LiPo. I attempted to buy 2x 3s LiPos from our friends at AliX, but instead received a 3S and a 4S I have no use for. I've had my money back, but I'm stuck with this battery. So if anyone wants it please get in touch and you can have it - just pay for the postage. Length = 70mm Width = 35mm Height = 20mm
  15. A Team Corally Radix 4 bought from @Gaz! and a Hobbywing Quicrun 150a ESC for a Hyper VSE It's been a really good day for post!!
  16. Yep, just drill some new holes and trim a bit out of the back for the wheelie bar
  17. Same here. I use an FTX Carnage shell because they are cheap as chips and look okay enough. I've got shoe-goo and tape on the current one and I do reckon it helps. Also used to do the big washers thing. But its a basher so the shell will be the first to go, regardless what reinforcement you do, so I just buy cheap and disposable. I'd like to stick a Big Rock shell on it, but be well unhappy when I wrecked it.
  18. Welcome to the club! Hope you enjoy the truck. I do like that new body style. In my opinion... Don't be tempted by the steel CVDs upgrade. I found the drive cups ended up wrecked really fast. For the price of the whole CVD kit, if you break the plastic ones just replace like for like. I'd be interested to know if anyone else had better luck? (I've never broken a plastic one tbf.) I've heard good things about the upgraded shocks. But to be fair the stock ones are still fine for me. I don't bash TOO abusively but I don't baby it, either.
  19. I'm certain the real "changes" are limited to just the different body. The other changes I've noticed are the removal of the moulded side guard and exhausts on the chassis and are just cosmetic.
  20. I still use mine, I had it out today. Love it. I've battered it for 2 years and only bust 2 arms. I have gone through a few skid plates though, but that was probably my fault. 3060 is the biggest motor that will fit, IIRC. I still run the stock 3300kV and went up 2 teeth on the pinion (using a 120A 3S ESC). Seems ok so far. Tip for when you smash the shell up, an FTX Carnage (less than £15) fits, you just need to drill it to accommodate the different body post position. If you went down the route of getting the Pro4 SCT chassis and driveshaft for the LWB mod then the Carnage shell still fits. Attached pics of the 2 year old MT10 (LWB ) (taken just now - still got todays mud). She's a little worn but always ready for more. (edit: punctuation)
  21. I haven't read the other post so forgive me if this isn't welcome, but my input is that the tyres are shocking and you should just replace them immediately. (If I was feeling generous I'd say they are "okay" when the ground is completely dry)
  22. Idk which seller you ordered from but mine also had a really long delivery ETA and it was here in half the time. There is hope 🙂
  23. I got one, it's really really good. I doubt you'll be disappointed. It surprised me how much it looks and feels like quality kit for the £. I don't have a 3S pack for it, don't need it imo, I would think it a bit hard to manage on 3S, and I like fast cars. Only thing I'd say is on mine the shocks were quite hard but thats an easy fix and just down to preference and where you run. Depends if you're looking to launch it or run it on the street I spose.
