  1. i think you might hit the same wall with the rs4 as with the strada, going to big pinions that unlock that 70+ speed that might be hard in the rs4 with its small pinion cover. the vantage is the same drive train as the banzia and will be able to make 70+
  2. Goodluck Tom looking forward to seeing the project continue!
  3. Hes talking about his outlaw so the gearing means nothing as hes got one choice @Iain .R dont take this the wrong way but try to not duplicate the same query over multiple threads to prevent confusion. As this setup is in an outlaw wait for a response there or start a thread in general electric about your esc queries will get more eyes also. 🙂
  4. TRUTH if you get into any hobby it can easily clean you out, as its your hobby, i would reccomend not putting it on credit card, the costs are ongoing with repairs and upgrades, it will eat into repayments aka dont get a credit card! MAX8 Will last you a long time, watch out for water in the power switch, it can get in via the reset button thats not rubber sheilded and make it glitch, otherwise its a powerhouse, start saving for new tires and strong glue, belted or fishingwire your tires is a must for 6s imo on the hyper. They will explode 😄
  5. Use the motor that you was going to use in the strada on the wl toys and experiment from there imo, theres no need to spend anything if you have escs and motors to try as per the banzia, i spent nothing on motors and esc's. Should be able to get 70, it depends on how far you want to go with spending money on spurs and pinions to get the speed as the motor is just half the equation.
  6. Dang thats got some punch, gotta love the kids, they really push the trucks to the limits with 0 fear. Famous last words, dad watch this 😂 Great control from your young driver had a good coach, really tamed the beast! Starts off hard with tears but when they get the hang of it always smiles. Love the weekends and RC! Blast on! Thinking ill be getting a set of these at some point, might save the jeep body that seems to be a tank! https://wheelspinmodels.co.uk/i/330535/
  7. Same really neat looking bit of kit there @Fly In My Soup seems quite uncontrollable but better for drifting, what if you dial the D/R down how they handel, what size motors do these use eg can you put a mini z motor brushless motor in them? Love the diecast body idea thanks for planting that seed!
  8. Arrg they are multiplying, must be that good! 👍
  9. Tested a massive motor on the poor little outlaw transmission i beefed up with some 32dp steel pinion and spur, something started to make a grinding noise before i put my foot infront of its face to stop it hitting a parked 1.1 car. Thinking its the diffs not the transmission, was a fun blast and very fast, torque for miles however motor was getting hot about 60 - 70c to hot for my liking, so not even a 1/8th scale 2000kv motor on tiny wheels is happy on an outlaw, what a shocker lol. Foot vs Outlaw one broken knuckle and rear upper arm from flipping it earlier, the shrink wrap held for about 30 min lol. Popped the drive shaft through the lower arm and drove it home, no worries haha.
  10. They are scary 50% throttle wheelspin on 6s things nuts, better stock up on tires 😁
  11. Maybe other shops, i got mine from here. https://wheelspinmodels.co.uk/i/321030/
  12. So true, and sort of the way the world is going with the top 95% of the worlds wealth lying with 5% of the worlds population.
  13. Can you please post a photo of the front axles, will these work for your 12mm hex, it basically makes 5mm shaft into a bearing?
  14. Lucky you didnt look at ps5 and xbones last year, robots bought them all and then put them on ebay for stupid prices when all the stock got bought out, least this is a human bean not a robot.
  15. I have soft boots? I dunno, the wheel look the hit not the bumper, never snapped one of those wishbones, usally rear trailing arms or sway bars. Luckly the outlaw repair store is always open and in stock 😀
  16. So a 49mm can will fit on the 40mm mount? I didnt need to buy the 50mm mount and get the issues i got, well thats good to know, ill try the 40mm mount again, cheers.
  17. Found this on the ROSSA page, so linking here so i doesnt get lost to time. Really worth the read! Airflow dynamics around RC cars. On the point im considering this for my speedrun 100+ body, shape looks like it would cut throught the air well and hold the line.
  18. @supersavageWhat motor plate did you use for the 4985 motor are you using the stock 40mm one or the one for 50mm cans?, and what pinion is that please thank you.
  19. Guess what... Least it hit my foot not a 100,000£ landrover.
  20. Good to hear the motors arrived safe, will need to cut the shaft on the 21t or drill / cut a hole in the stock transmission as i did for it above. Still yet to lock my diffs as expecting the cvs to snap, let me know how you get on in the crawler thread please. Hopefully stock will come in march. Next time wrap some bacon / salmon or food product of choice around the motor and when you come home you can have a nice toasty "food product" all cooked ready to eat 🥴
  21. Awesome should really shift now! Be intresting to know what the peak draw is under full loads.
  22. Your a mad man! I love it! Video when running please!!!
  23. https://www.modelsport.co.uk/index.php?product_id=440053 One esc for 2 motors.
  24. I dunno, i tried for years and just replaced the whole transmission lol, maybe others have better solutions. A lower turn motor will give you more torque but slower speeds, ive burnt out 21t and 35t motors on the outlaw, its hungry! If you have some old cordless drill motors will work but again be quite slow. Here is why a smaller pinion wont work. Move the motor shaft in for the smaller pinion means it hits the drive cup, Im still experimenting with the stock transmission and other spurs. Might find a solution.
  25. Yes a smaller pinion would help with the motor load however... It would if you could, and im not aware that you can put on smaller pinions, as mentioned above this means moving the motor closer to the output and there isnt room, so even if you did get a smaller pinion to fit on a custom plate, the front drive cup would bind on the motor.
