  1. ftx parts are usally readily available, they are also fairly robust vs tamiya plastics irrc, yes both have alloy hopups, most brands do, but really the plastics wont break at the slow speeds you drift at. if you want to built a 1/10th looks like your choice is tamiya or what ever anyone else recommends
  2. You didnt mention that, you can always pull it apart and rebuild it. Worth doing with a Ready To Repair anyway. As for gyro, you can get a radio link rc4gs with 2 receivers one with inbuilt gyro and tuning of gyro from the remote for about the same price as the dumbo irrc.
  3. if your wanting a cheap drift with lots of spares, ftx banzia might be up your ally, can get a 2nd hand one for about 70£ they are £100 rtr, can probably go brushless for another 100 to get more drift time. still 100 to put into lipo and charger / gyro.
  4. yes reach out to modelsport, it might be a faulty pack, i had a few overlander 4s batteries that came dead and the replacments also werent right (not from modelsport). The shop should sort it.
  5. Mine was playing up yesterday, realized it was running with the brakes on (i still have the 1 way transmission and brake discs) i assume you have removed these as its a LST e?
  6. Thats some collection, how could they be stored away for so long, they look awesome! Liked @Jack Reacher's idea of making your own batteries so gave it a go. Works as 2s pack, balances perfect, bit high resistance but tiny leads and may have cooked the ends soldiering. Will run a transmitter, the winch controller or a crawler for 30min for 8£ oh and like Jack said these can go lower than 3.2v so longer run times.
  7. Great videos, showing the spirit of ROSSA at work, its not about the records it about the people! Hope they make it to the much cooler and reliable july events, aug for the last 2 times in aug have been a bit damp and much cooler but not ideal for 200mph runs still as the runway is ice as soon as it rains. The lad and I are enjoying watching what we missed and look forward to seeing more custom builds at the event too. Eg. This awesome idea, its got so much potential like Kevs EDF. I hope he goes again next year! Great to see familiar faces and your cars again in the video's, how did you get on @GMballistic I know pie smashed his own world record twice.
  8. As the booster fried, mounted the aerial to give the transmitter some range again. 2ft wasnt really workable. Pulled the max 8 system out the FTX Banzai and back into the LST, mounted battery tray to chassis sits just above the steering servos, better than bolted to the motor mount like before, better weight distro too. But it wouldnt turn on... Soon found my last bodge to the broken switch wire had failed and there was no wire to solder too. Thus had to delid, cut back the heatsink, and cut deep into the potting to find a bit of wire, an ugly result but a functioning esc none the less.
  9. imo it does damage them as it affects the chemistry increasing resistance and decreasing overall lifespan of the batteries. there is little risk charging lipo indoors, aslong as you do it safely and are about during charging, never leave lipos connected to anything and ensure they are at storage voltage if not in use for a week or so to keep them in good health
  10. Charging at 0c isnt wise as its just not good for the battery chemistry. Just like running them in the cold, they will work just 50% worse. Will also take longer to charge and retain less charge.
  11. A facebook bargain i couldnt turn down brushless banzai and 2 shells for 70£ yes please! How fast will she go 😛
  12. Good for them, hope they get some decent passes in. Weathers looking spot on too.
  13. They have been on order for 3 months and are out of stock as all the stock has gone to those who pre ordered when out of stock, so another 4+ month wait for the chassis. The brushless rtr being 250 isnt bad value its a decent 3s brushless setup, if the chassis doesnt end up coming into stock or a 2nd had one doesnt show, ill be getting the rtr one. The other pain is 3 weeks wait for spares like dogbones :(
  14. over 5kg mmm ok hows it handle steep climbs does it not drag it self backwards? Also some snaps, love my new phones camera.
  15. The screws that came with the inner front casings tho, didnt fit, the ones for the bushings to long, the stock ones too long, ground them down but felt a bit annoyed having to do so, wtf. Whats yours weight in at @Stormbringer im concerned if i add more it will start to hinder performance, front maybe the brass casters? how much do they weight anyone know?
  16. Its my only 2wd, i like it for speed runs and doing some pulls in parking lots, if you have some one to do it with or a gps its a good bit of fun, i like the data and tinkering with escs, so its a good simple platform, also durable nothing broken yet (touchwood) and its been flipping and rolled at high speed and is still fine so i would rate them highly!
  17. Testing out the mods to my stock trx4, loaded it with brass. Results as expected are great! Well worth the investment, underdrive too! Turns on a hairpin. Before the brass it would have been rolling off the edge of the cliff.
  18. Been doing some hits with the dr10, it did 70mph at rossa as was capable of more, down geared it and max punch on 2s maxed at 39mph 3.35 sec. it can do better, the 2 pole motor is holding back the launch i think. Need 60mph in less than 2 sec. Tiny motor did very well, it wil go in the hyper 10, in goes the system that took the banzai to 108mph. Wired up for testing tomorrow, been running 2x 2s packs for 9000mha to ensure theres no battery sag. Also put the drag wheels and wheelie bar back on, belted are slightly smaller, i need these to balloon for the top end speed and not flip doing so.
  19. Gday Borked, love the ftx's too! I recently found ftx diffs and axial diffs fit on each others housings, maybe they will fit in the ftx diff housings, im running an axial spur on an ftx housing im my axial yeti, just a warning the diffs are the weak point once sorted its the front drive shaft cv pins that will shear, i wonder if the yeti / currie driveshafts will fit the ftx outlaw (same parts as carnage) if so it will allow accsess to much stronger front drive line parts at twice the price 😕 The car your asking about is an Element RC Gatekeeper, looks good performs ok, theres better out there, im really not impressed with the steering angles and flex in the plastics at the moment.
  20. Went out for a play / testing. Bronco now has rear underdrive and rear brass + more brass on the front steering. Sitting now at 4.2kg seems just about right, doesnt seem to like to roll on its side as much. Solid front axle gatekeeper did well, the tires are horrible but now they are wearing in they are becoming much better at holding on. Also upped the overdrive from stock to all the way.
  21. Make's sense to put it in the mini losi or the rally car and send it 😛
  22. Why is the back wheel hitting the side skirt, surely these balloon a little even belted ones do.
  23. Looking for a Roller in decent condition, doesnt need shell or wheels. Ideally the kit, Cash ready.
  24. What car is it going in? What max 10 system was you eyeing up, what sensored one also?
  25. Locked the front diff on the yeti, with a ftx locker, ftx housing and axial hd ring and pinion, just fits in the intergy alloy diff case this is good news for ftx 1/10 speed running, you can use axial diff hardware!
