    So I have an RC on the way from California. I've paid (A ludicrous amount to be honest) through eBay's Global Shipping, so all fee's/customs etc are paid in theory. It left California on the 29th Feb, and it arrived at the ParcelForce Depot 3.6 miles from my house at 10am this morning. Wehn do we think it'll be in my hands? Place your bets!

      It arrived in great condition.  That is always my biggest worry with international shipping.

    I actually could be quite tempted tbh. As much as I want the promoto I think it could be a long time before we see them over here, or at least see a second batch.

      I don't understand?  This is just a development of the previous Losi Baja Rey.  The bodies, manufacturer specific parts and graphics are fully licensed and there is not a "MAX" or "MAXX" anywhere in sight.

    I've had a DHL parcel sitting at UK customs for 7 days and no info. I think I will have to pay duty as over £135, guess we have to thank Brexit for these delays.

      The thing to note is that the service is unpredictable.  Sometimes you will get a package from China in a few days, other times it is many months, with no real explanation as to why this happens.  Just order, count your savings and be patient.

      As an additional note, the last time I had a parcel from Hong Kong using DHL airmail, it took 13 weeks to be delivered!

      I've also been waiting for 5 different packages, all coming from China.  According to the tracking they got across China and all the way to UK in less than a week but have sat awaiting UK customs clearance for over 2 weeks so far.  Then I expect about another 1-2 weeks to get delivered in UK.

      Yes, it can be converted to 4WS with a simple option kit.  Not really sure about spares.  The Modelsport website seems to list quite a few parts specifically for the USA-1 but most are quoted as supplier stock (back order) or out of stock.

      What are you thinking about getting - HG P407, P410 or P417?  I have a P417 Toyota Hilux High Lift clone.  It was about 1/3 of the price of the Tamiya version.  I wasn't sure what to expect from it.  It is not perfect by any means (although neither is the original) but you get a lot of truck for your money.

      AliExpress has to automatically add tax for a delivery address in UK.  At checkout it will get added.  I don't think you can avoid it.

      Modelsport has the brushless/LiPo starter bundle priced at 565 GBP.  With this you will probably want to fit the optional slipper clutch (57 GBP).  Don't forget some paint for the body panels and driver figure.  You already won't have much change from 650 GBP.  If the other hop-up options tempt you it will be >700 GBP...

    Does anyone know if the big Hamleys in London still has proper RC cars in there? Remember there being a big section of Tamiya kits but they don't list any online!

    Ordered some bits from Asiatees one Tuesday and they are out for delivery today, £14 postage though, but still cheaper that UK sourced parts 👍

      If you can get a decent deal on the shipping, the prices are very attractive.  When you see the local prices of the Tamiya and Kyosho stuff, you realise how expensive things have become in the UK.
