  1. Eight weeks is not normal. I've had some of my LiPos for more then three years.
  2. Thanks for the responses guys. It looks like almost all of us RC alone most of the time. I also try to get out early to avoid people. I often wonder what people around me think of me bashing in the park. I don't like any attention. With that said, I'd really like to enjoy the hobby with others. I'm sure we all would.
  3. In the four years I've been into RC, about 90% of the time, I've RC'd by myself. I've probably seen one person with an RC car on two occasions. I've seen a few people with planes and drones and I've flown with them. But most of the time I'm by myself. I have to say that at times, it's not really fun. Now I wonder.. "Is this common? Do we all tend to enjoy this hobby alone?" So guys how do you enjoy the hobby? Alone? With friends? With family? If you are alone, does ever make you feel like selling up?
  4. You might be able to get a pre-owned DJI Phantom 1 or something. Can't be that many around these days though.
  5. You wont get much for £150 I'm afraid. Besides Hubsan, you might be able to get something pre-owned from someone.
  6. Thanks for getting back to me guys! 3S would be fine. It's just that I have literally no other use for my 2S lipo's. But that's okay really. I only paid about £25 for them. FYI - It's more for bashing, then racing.
  7. Hey boys it's a spy! Kidding.. As some of you may remember, not too long ago I bought a 2WD, Brushed, Traxxas Slash. I'm happy with it for now but I suspect my motor and/or ESC will eventually fail. When this happens, I'd like to upgrade my motor and ESC to brush-less. Ideally, I'd like to be able to use 4S. It would mean I could combine my current 2S lipo's. Just wondering what my options are, as of 2018. Ideally a budget motor and ESC would be what I'm looking for. Thanks!
  8. I've been following events around Hobbico online. I didn't think it would effect Arrma that much. Does me a favor though. I can't buy what isn't (easily) for sale, haha!
  9. Hey does anyone know why the Arrma Fazon isn't very much (if at all) available in the UK?
  10. What voltage are you running them down to?
  11. I literally dreamed of this car last night. What the hell?!
  12. Welcome aboard! See you around I hope!
  13. I have one of these. On a totally windless day it's a lot of fun. Can take mine 150 - 200 feet up into the air and have it glide around. I've seen one or two people try FPV with small AIO cameras. Whilst I think the plane can fly, it doesn't fly very nicely. But maybe you can modify the plane to make it work.
  14. How about this? https://hobbyking.com/en_us/hobbykingr-x-car-120a-brushless-car-esc-sensored-sensorless.html
  15. Turnigy are my go-to brand if I want something cheap and reliable. If I want something better, I buy Acehe. For cars, Turnigy LiPo's are fine in my opinion.
  16. I think buying budget electronics is fine if you're doing an experiment or a project at home. But if you're looking to use something on an expensive model, or a model that flies, it can be worth spending more. I've bought motors and ESC's for a little as £2.50 each on Ebay, for 3D printed things. Never had an issue with them. But I wouldn't stick them on a racing drone, for example.
  17. Anyone heard of this, or perhaps purchased one? I stumbled upon it yesterday on Facebook, being advertised by Banggood. I used the search function on here and found nothing. But I did find some topics on RC Groups and some videos on Youtube. It looks like a good budget 1/10 buggy. But I am a n00b, having only recently purchased a Traxxas Slash and used it twice. What do you guys think? https://www.banggood.com/SST-110th-Scale-Off-Road-4WD-B-p-987235.html?cur_warehouse=CN PS - Shouldn't be an affiliate link. I don't know how to do that. If somehow it is, let me know!
  18. Hahaha! Great replies guys! One reason why I think about how much I've spent is because it prevents me from impulse buying. Otherwise I'd probably spend much more. If I can, I'll edit the original post to improve the question.
  19. Bit of a personal question folks! But no harm in asking I hope. Just wondering how long you've been into RC as a whole and how much you've spent (roughly). I've spent about £6000 over the past four years, including making money back from sales (The figure is more like £7000 before selling stuff to make money back). I think it's a lot and I aim to spend no more then £1000 per year on average from now on (which I actually think is more then enough really). For the money I've spent, I don't really have much to show for it, haha! But I wonder.. Did I spend more then average on the hobby until now? (I suspect I did).
  20. I don't plan to buy anything for mine until it becomes an issue. I hope to have no issues for a few years, haha!
  21. Hey I made a mistake. My PC cost £500. Not £600, haha! (Now it's £650!)
  22. Hi guys. Just an update. I don't need to expand the bay. Hobbyking's dimensions appear to be rather wrong. I have plenty of space.
