  1. 7 years on and I am wondering as well. Surely someone in the last 7 years has experimented with printing and gluing to the inside of a shell?
  2. Yes please do have a look. It might be fitted fairly centrally. I took everything apart when I got mine to check the parts, stripped threads etc. I was quite impressed with what I saw...except for the spur fit when I tried putting it back together.
  3. ...and yes, the Mammoth is the same except for the longer wheelbase. one thing that I am concerned about is the sloppy fit of the spur gear. It ends up being quite elliptic as the diameter of the spur gear is noticeably larger than the diameter of the shaft of sits on so goes of centre easily. This can make meshing a bit of a pain and you end up with some teeth with quite a tight mesh and others with a loose one.
  4. My daughter has the Triton and did have the Carnage before I sold it. The Triton feels more robust so I feel happier bashing and crashing. The Carnage feels the better drive. It is more positive when steering. Whether the longer wheelbases Mammoth steers better I don’t know, but I expect it would be a slight improvement.
  5. Congratulations. Enjoy whatever you get.
  6. Let's face it, the market was wide open for someone to do it. Everyone else just seemed content to sit back and carry on charging high prices for same old products and mediocre customer service, etc. Good on them. If I didnt have my ST I would be purchasing one. Not sure if it would be worth the switch though. Watching with interest on how Corallys presence shakes things up.
  7. This is what I’m constantly getting now. Anyone know why or how to get rid of it?
  8. That looks a great quality car...similar price to what my ST Pro cost fully converted, d’oh. 🤦‍♂️ 😂
  9. Also, where did you get that link? It did something weird to my tablet and now I'm getting pop up messages on my screen for that esc...
  10. I have no idea what that esc is and to be honest I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. I see it as £15 down the drain. I cant say what would be wrong with it but by the look of it and the price I highly doubt itll be hassle free in the long run. £60 for a brushless Carnage is very odd even for an etronix brushless set up. The fact that you got 2 years out of it is amazing, I certainly wouldn't be calling it a "bloody car". I'm wondering if you are trying to buy parts at the same proportional amount you paid for it. This would be almost impossible for the same quality. The car you have is a £200 car not £60 so £55 for a hobbywing esc is proportionate...plus the hobbywing is better than the standard Etronix one.
  11. Why are you recommending buying from banggood??? Buy from the UK at the same price from here. Anyway, if funds are tight you don’t need the 120a SCT version, the standard Max10 here is more than you need for the FTX models. If you anticipate eventually going to a larger car then the 120a makes more sense but not if it’s sole purpose is for the FTX.
  12. Maybe it’s just had it’s day. If you’re happy with the FTX in general use it as an excuse to get a HobbyWing max10 which is higher quality than the standard Etronix ones anyway.
  13. As mentioned, the 1060 is one of the best value ESCs available. Mine has lasted ages and been abused, dropped in river, strained up hills, flat out on long grass etc.
  14. Thanks for the interest 1liabity. As per our discussion I don’t think this is suitable for your needs. All the best with your new car when you get it. Still for sale.
  15. Selling my Carnage/Bugsta (originally bought as a brushed Bugsta from Modelsport) as I no longer use it since finishing my Hyper ST Pro. It is in excellent conditions and in perfect working order. I have checked it over thoroughly and replaced the front and rear crown gears as they showed a little wear from when I used the plastic chassis, still perfectly usable but I wanted to make sure it was spot on. The diffs and main pinion gears were as new so I left them as they were. The spur gear looks slightly worn but I have not needed to replace it for over a year and works with no issue at all so just left it as it was. A new spur gear is included anyway. The price is £165 with cash on collection preferred. I will consider posting (+£15) with payment made via bank transfer, I am nervous about PayPal as I have heard of too many stories that don't end well for the seller. I understand that this is asking the buyer to place greater trust in the sale so pleased pm me if this is a concern. I am happy to demonstrate the car and talk over anything the buyer would like to know. Any questions please feel free to ask. It has a few upgrades as follows: HobbyWing Max10 esc and 3300kv motor. Savoy sc-0252 servo. An aluminium chassis which stops the flex (something that caused faster wear to the gears). Wheely bar which protects the rear and enables you to have a lot more control when wheelying. Sway bars which help massively with body roll and provides a much better drive. RW hardened14t pinion gear which from memory (I did a speed test a year ago) sees around 30-32mph. Blue anodized wheel nuts. Modifications as followed: Carnage wheels Carnage shell (brushless) taped and shoe goo'd. It is unused but does have a few minor nicks. Proline shell - also shoe goo'd and immensely strong. Glued servo e clip. The e clip is known for coming out. I have not had a lost one since doing it. The gaps around the spur gear have been closed up. Large stones would get in via these spaces and reck the spur gear. XT60 connectors. Breather holes in both Carnage and Bugsta tyres. This allows water and dirt to escape and allows the drivetrain and wheels to last a lot longer. There are quite a few replacement parts included. I bought them when I bought the car as I anticipated a few breakage but the car ended up being more durable than I thought and they were never needed. Most spares are new but there are a few parts that are used but perfectly usable. The Hobbyking branded parts are identical to the FTX branded parts.
  16. Yes they will work but you can solder much more easily on XT90s especially with the size of cables often used in 1/8 scale. XT90 give me much more reassurance that I’ve made a good solder join than with XT60s.
  17. I like XT90s and have them on my 1/8 cars. I bought some 6s lipos that were around £25 because they had XT60s. The XT90s versions were £39. I bough a load of the XT60s, cut them off and soldered XT90s on that I also bought from them for around £3 for 5 pairs, lol. Go for the Lipos that you need rather than the connection and just solder on what you need.
  18. No worries. Hope it gets sorted out ok.
  19. I think that’s going to be an issue. It’s not really going to be able to do everything. It’s a fast brushless or a steady crawler not both, it’s a bit like trying to put a square peg in a round hole and bashing it with a hammer to make it fit. It might go through but damage will occur.
  20. Small jumps do less damage with bad landings but also give you less time to work out what to do. It’s a tricky one but once you have learnt the basics bigger jumps are much easier as you have more thinking time.
  21. Although a slightly lower mah this one is just as good. It also has the cables separate to the LiPo so no danger of overheating it when soldering. To be honest this is the most I’ve ever seen it. They can be had for £19-£20 when they have one of their frequent sales. Just need to wait. https://hobbyking.com/en_us/zippy-6000mah-2s2p-35c-hardcase-pack.html?affiliate_code=RKKOGVTXRWLFTUR&_asc=5163667479
  22. The brushed system should be better than the brushless system if climbing over steep rocky ground. The brushed motor doesn’t cog and handles slower speeds better.
