  1. Excellent. It makes it a really proper bit of kit. Get a set of ProLine Badlands for it and the grip level is transformed on and off road. One of the Best mods we did. They last ages too which is great. Bash, Break, Build, Repeat...
  2. So yes unless changing parts under warranty it may well be cheaper to start with a Mega. Bash, Break, Build, Repeat...
  3. Mine? It was a BLX. But the blx 3S esc is not like its 6S big brother which is a decent bit of kit. It failed within a week. Servos not much to talk about either. Mine failed inside 2 weeks. Replaced with a shumacker version as well. Forgot about that bit. when converting think you need to uprate slipper clutch and not sure about the gears. Bash, Break, Build, Repeat...
  4. Love my Senton but so much has been changed from stock. Max 10 combo Proper ally shocks Hot racing spacers and 17 mm hex’s 1/8 Proline wheels and Badlands tyres. Killer car. Does eat bearings though. Bash, Break, Build, Repeat...
  5. Shame. Do you run 3S batteries through it? Transforms the buggy completely. Bash, Break, Build, Repeat...
  6. I’d bite the bullet and upgrade. You won’t be sorry. Bash, Break, Build, Repeat...
  7. Think this happened on ours when our transmitter malfunctioned. Have you changed receiver as well. The newer version didn’t link up to the old transmitter correctly. . Or vice versa. Changed over to a cheap core Tc transmitter and receiver. Problem solved. Then our esc died and when changed out to a max 10 120 A esc the thing flies on 3S all day long Bash, Break, Build, Repeat...
  8. Chinese parts available but not sure where from. Bash, Break, Build, Repeat...
  9. Sadly the car has some weak points. A arms and pins shock towers and wing mounts. Are main issues. I bought mine with Chinese ally hop up parts already fitted. But they are out there if you hunt. Try bangood for starters. Bash, Break, Build, Repeat...
  10. Have a young lad myself. Did the ftx route with a brushless outlaw Not best made. Ended up buying metal hop up parts for most of it as they broke easily. Then it became a not so cheap experience. Not a bad buggy but it’s top heavy so rolls over in corners and has issues with toughness. Kids learn fast after a few crashes. Then bought him a Maverick Desert Wolf. Great buggy and quick on 3S. Totally different experience. Only thing we changed were tyres. This was aged 10. Now he uses a granite by Arrma and he just loves it. His favourite. Mental fast and bullet proof apart from the servos and esc could be better. They failed well within warranty though so upgradable for free. But super strong generally. It gets jumped and barrel rolled most weeks and keeps coming back for more. I wouldn’t buy the ftx if I was doing it again. Prob cost the same as the granite after breakages. ( chassis, swing arms , A arms, driveshafts. Steering blocks ) Hope that helps with decision making. 11. Can leave it to dry and then hit it with a brush. I use a stiff paint brush. Bearings take a beating over time and every few months I remove the bearings in the wheel hubs etc and change them out. Or at least those with wear or breakage. They do explode occasionally. You’ll usually notice the buggy isn’t as free running as it was before which is usually a sign that the bearings need attention. I also clean the car with a rag and bike cleaner on certain areas where it won’t eat the grease in the bearings. It does eat into the grime well. Some people use compressed air to blow away the dirt, , good if you have the kit for that. Bash, Break, Build, Repeat...
  12. Did a thread on inexpensive 3s lipos recently. ( for Senton 3S) Best by far Goldbat 5000 and 5200 mah 50c Run for ages compared with my HRB 5000’s , Yome 6200’s etc. Bash, Break, Build, Repeat...
  13. Good luck. They are good fun. Hope yours has no teething problems. Ours lasted 5 mins. Did the overheating cut out before it even warmed up. The 3S blx esc is prone to failures. But is warranted so can be changed for a Schumacher unit instead if it fails. Hope yours is a winner. Other than that they are tough as old boots. Enjoy. Bash, Break, Build, Repeat...
  14. I wouldn’t know sorry. Others may I’d look at spec sheet to see size of motor and servos. A couple have big 540 motors if I’m not barking up the wrong tree. Bash, Break, Build, Repeat...
  15. Just looked. They are WilToys. Also huge and Uber cheap spares at Bangood. Bash, Break, Build, Repeat...
  16. Are those codes WilToys? I’m no expert. But they make very hardy buggies with decent size motors. Plastics are very flexible so reducing breakages. Can’t go wrong around that price with one of theirs. Bash, Break, Build, Repeat...
  17. Hi mate. How’s it going ? I have a question for you as I’ve recently taken possession of the 3.4 bl. Problem I’m having is it’s super slow. I need a beast that will fly on 3 s. I know you’re build and you know your stuff. Could you recommend a pinion and spur combination that’ll give good acceleration and decent tip end on 3 s? In addition what would you opt for with the motor. This has a 60a esc fitted? Any help would be great fully received. Bash, Break, Build, Repeat...
  18. Could you tell me what motor you have in the Absima please? Bash, Break, Build, Repeat...
  19. I use balloon. Works perfectly unless you totally submerg it. Ps you can’t really Plastidip the terminals so still have a weak spot. Bash, Break, Build, Repeat...
  20. T TT he metal versions I posted pics of? Nice move. With 45 weight oil in themm you’ll be amazed how differently the car behaves. Let us know your thoughts when you’ve tried them out. Bash, Break, Build, Repeat...
  21. You sir. Are a very lucky man. Bash, Break, Build, Repeat...

    Help

Hi there Great to hear he loved it. Would be useful info for the knowledgeable guys on here if you add a rough budget as a guide. Happy hunting. Bash, Break, Build, Repeat...
  23. Hi thought I’d do a quick one on cheapo lipos. Not everyone can spend the money wanted from big brand names, some of us take a gamble on the cheaper end of the selections out there. I’ve had a few now and with mixed results. So below I’ll name and quick review of what I found. Florion 5000mah 3S, Comes with strap. Sdecent power, didn’t last too long before it started to bend into an S shape. Max 6 months use. HRB 5000mah 3S, again decent power and punch, long charge time, no swelling or bending, had failure with live wire coming loose inside the battery. Yome 6200ah 3S hard case. Good performance, decent runtime, arrived balanced. Very good value at 67 quid for 2. GoldBat 5200 mah 3S, 2 for approx £65 Our favourite to date if honest. Well packaged on arrival, Comes with strap and xt60 adaptor, Looks to be well made. Charge reasonably fast, great punch and general power. These seem to last for ever. Out performs the Yome above at present but Yome prob needs balancing right now. Overlander 4500mah 3S Hard case. This lasted well and had good punch and power. Decent runtimes too. Lasted the longest probably 2 years. Hope this may be of some use to someone. Bash, Break, Build, Repeat...
  24. Phillips are pants. End of. They round out and you can’t unlock easily once thread locked. Slower to tighten and loosen too. Bash, Break, Build, Repeat...
