  1. I'm having trouble with the gold membership section in the store, it keeps sending me round in circles and at the end of each lap says shopping cart is empty? I tried messaging nick a couple of nights ago but unsure if it sent or not as it doesn't show up in my box. Any ideas or suggestions please?
  2. My mate was running the hardened spur and bell and he managed to munch them both in one go lol. I have checked for cracks on the purple plate the mounts fix to (and everywere) and all ok and all screws are tight. I'm thinking it could be due to the threadlock melting and letting the screws out a fraction when it's warm. But when I remove engine the change spur, the screws tack some 'crackin' loose...
  3. Tbf the mesh is usually ok....but a roof landing and cartwheels soon changes that, I flip it back over and re-check the mesh after a bad'un, but the last time out I didn't roll it over much and just did a few small jumps over a lump of dirt and then 10 mins later it went lol I'm going to be checking better and re tightening the mount screws after 10 mins next time I go out. If I put a hardened one on then I'd only break something else, or even chew the clutch bell up too
  4. Still way off topic.....but I usually take a nitro and a bl out for a bash for the best of both worlds, I'm still undecided which I prefer
  5. I have the savage x 5.9 and it's a beast, never had a revo but I was thinking I might like one sometime soon but if people would prefer the savage to the revo then I'll keep my money in my pocket instead lol. I think now I've got it all running well, consistently, my annoyance is that I generally chew a spur gear up every bash or so...
  6. I changed the Phillips cheese screws out ages ago for the countersunk hex's, it's taken plenty of beatings and written off a couple of times in it's life lol I don't think the diff case is too old either. I think I'll glue them for now and when I break something else I'll order at the same time.
  7. I went out for a couple of hours yesterday with the cars, broke both savages, wr8, and lost a wheel/nut for my trophy flux, and the diff case screws/hex's from underside keep coming loose every 5mins. Eventful day I'd say haha
  8. Had a couple of cold hour out today with a mate, broke both savages, I ran into his wr8 and bust a shock, then 10 mins later I lost a wheel nut and the wheel dissappeared off up the quary lol good job I love tinkering :-D
  9. I picked up an ftx ibex the other day for £74. Never really looked at crawlers before but I thought I'd get something for playing indoors whilst the weather's crap. Not bad for a 1/24 scale, goes round the living room over most of the little'uns toys pretty well
  10. I had a quick blast of mine last night, it's a bit fiddly to get the charger in and out easily but that's to be expected on this tiny thing. Charge time of about 2 hours, not sure of run time as the Mrs came downstairs so I quickly put it back in the box like I'd not been playing haha. It seemed quite capable of climbing over my 2 year olds toys that were strewn across the living room easily enough, next time out I'll make an obstacle course for it. I've never had a crawler before so not sure what speeds to expect, it crawls along lol sure it's faster in reverse?
  11. I picked an ftx ibex up this afternoon as a bit of indoors fun, I saw them about 6 months ago when I went in the lhs one day and the 'rep' was there doing a demo and I thought it looked pretty cool. (at this time ftx didn't have a name, price or release date) and I kept looking around for them and for people's reviews and could'nt find them until recently. Just happened to finish work early lol so went to have a closer look.... It's currently on charge :-D

    Traxxas X-Maxx.

That's a few quid in the repair bill, I wouldn't of expected to see rusty screws and bits already though? Poor maintenance? Cheap crap fixings? Or both?
  13. .....after having a propper look at the link I see those are the ones I'm looking for haha thanks a lot :-D
  14. They are a bit like those collets but they screw on to the thread end of the linkage, I'm after the ones that slide on and lock in place with a grub screw to limit the travel
  15. Evening all, I'm in the process of sorting a thunder tiger eb4 out for a friend's lad for christmas and I've noticed there's no brake.... The disc, pads and the little cam are present but no lever or linkage, I've made the lever and linkage rod but I need some of those small round 'clamps' to hold the rod at set places. I've googled and ebayed plenty but I'm coming up blank on my searches, any idea on what said parts are even labeled as would be a help... Cheers, ste
  16. In this case just play the fleabay game, you may get it for less than the asking price come the end of the auction...
  17. I swapped over to the plastic big bores (£20 new from fleabay) after bending a couple of shafts at once in a kurb Incident running the standard ones. I quite like them tbh and the truck takes s beating every time I go out, usually ends up chewing a spur gear up after a few bad roof landings and cartwheels :-)
  18. It can be an aukward motor to tune and keep running at optimum but as long as the fuel tubes are nice and tight fitting, and the tank seals well, and no air leaks from the carb then it should hold a good tune pretty well, I swapped tx and rx over from an old 2.4 digital to a new non digital 2.4 as it was bob, and I've had no problems since....apart from snapping a pull cord lol
  19. I run the 5.9 in my savage x and when it runs, it runs great, but I've had a few troublesome days out when it's been a pita! I think I've sorted the gremlins out and it usually starts 2nd or 3 pull now so it's all good for me...
  20. I picked one up today from my lhs, it didn't come with a usb fast charger, just the lead from the tx to charge with. Took about half hour to charge and zipped around the short carpet for about 20+ mins. Still going ok after my 2 year old standing on it a couple of times and bouncing it off all the walls she could like a pinball...
  21. I can't comment on either of them crawlers, other than, I'm sure the wheelie king is virtually the same as the crawler king but with a front mounted battery for front weight distribution, and is a little longer too. I've been looking at the ftx ibex for indoors and for my little girl to Play with. They've not been released yet so I'm waiting for some reviews when they do. It's small, 1/24 scale I think, but I happened to call in my local model shop a couple of months ago when the 'rep' was in there doing a little demo, looked a smart bit of kit for £80
  22. As above, take plenty of pics so people can easily identify parts that you're unsure of...
  23. It should handle the beach no problem as long as it's properly cleaned, oiled and checked over for sand and salt water afterwards
  24. Hey guys how are we all this evening? I've not posted anything in this section for a while as the buggy flux has been going well with no real mishaps recently...apart from bendingba shock shaft after crashing into my garden gate :-[ My brother lives in France and has just bought himself a trophy buggy 3.5, been fiddling with it after break in was complete and has got a little lost with the carb settings, off the top of my head I'm sure the factory settings are about 'flush' same ss my savage, can anyone confirm this for me please, or can tell me how many turns out from fully in they should be? Muchas gracias Welcome to the group/forum slayer layer and ash, a lot of pages to read in the trophy section but it makes for a good read....
  25. I put 50wt in mine and same again when I swapped over to gig bores
