  1. I suppose there's always making adjustments to your TX settings. Knock the dual rate / Exponential down, see if that helps for now.
  2. Yeah, if you're already on 2s you'll never get the control you want. I imagine it would tear through sponge tyres Better off putting your money towards a 10.5t - 13.5t can or get your maths head on and gear it down with this charts help :
  3. The Hobbyking sensored combos are great. 13.5t is what I have in my TT-01e http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__22600__Hobbyking_X_Car_Brushless_Power_System_2600KV_45A.html They do plenty of others too.
  4. Not surprised your having trouble! Use a standard gearing on mine with a 13t sensored combo and it'll still chew through tyres. What batteries are you using? Maybe dropping down a cell will tame things for you. (i.e. 2s Lipo instead of a 3s)
  5. Gobsmacked there are people with multiple kits to build! I've got a stack of 1:72 Aircraft kits but this is another league. Well jel
  6. After the post hibernation run of my Quanum Vandal at the weekend, I gave it some TLC last night. Re-glued a couple of tyres (and my thumb ) that I noticed were coming loose. Made some weight saving adjustments by brushing and scrapping off the mud it was covered in. Re-glued the ESC to the chassis and taped up the body shell inside as I noticed it was starting to split. Fancy trying some rally blocks on it once these tyres are worn out.
  7. Good luck Garry! Your guides on here were invaluable to me when I was getting started. Nice 1:1 car
  8. Always liked this shell. Hmm I don't have a RWD car either...
  9. Nothing for me at the moment (apart from a higher electricity bill ). Tend to just buy more stuff when I have chunks of spending money rather than monthly ongoing costs.
  10. Looks like my petrol lawnmower without the handle
  11. Not been doing much at all apart from flying my Hubsan Quad around the lounge and taking my F1 Stingray boat out for its maiden voyage. As for my cars, this weekend I charged all my batteries, resoldered a loose wire in a DT-02 and stuck down the ESC properly in my TT-01e. *Waits for decent weather*
  12. I enjoyed reading your opinions of the build. As others have said the Lunchbox is an old kit and I certainly wouldn't want to spend that much on a 'novelty' RC personally. I think if you'd gone for a more modern kit like a DT-02 Sand Viper (includes bearings and oil filled dampers!) you'd have been much happier. Admittedly they're slightly more expensive than what you paid. Sorry if I come across as a bit of a fan boy (my fave off roader I own is a cheap 4x4 Quanum Vandal )
  13. You can always alter your gearing to turn it down a notch if you think it's too much.
  14. I bought my brother a Fast Wave F1 Stingray RC boat for Christmas and the next day I found out his girlfriend already got him one! So I wrapped it up for me!
  15. This looks great. Someone buy one and give a full report
  16. 9t leopard brushless running off a 3s lipo in my DT-02 is plenty fast. Pretty sure anything beyond that would be uncontrollable apart from drag racing
  17. You can buy cheaper, sure. But the overall experience of building and using a Tamiya RC is brilliant. Well worth the money, in my opinion. Built four kits so far, and I'd buy more in the future. The fact they've been going for so long is testament to the fact that the price is right.
  18. *Makes changes to Christmas list*
  19. Never realised when I started how addicted I'd be. All began last Christmas with a shiny RC. Now, in my man cave my fleet is swelling, Can't justify to the Mrs we need a bigger dwelling. The money isn't the issue it's a matter of size. But I'm sure I'll find more room if I won the prize.
  20. Stickystuff remover has worked for me before, but only good on 'thin' coats.
  21. Really good, but you'll get more for your dosh if you get the same car from Hobbyking (search for Vandal) and get a brushless combo. One of the best things I've bought.
